Thank god rishi has gone, the lying twat. This has made my evening

But it looks like he’s shaping up to throw his hat in the ring for PM…

Bloody better not. Ffs. Can you imagine?

Fuck them and them doing this for self serving reasons

Yeah it’s all a show. Not a fan of Boris Johnson at all. But he is Their Man! They all voted him in. They all knew what he was like. In the context of the shit that’s striking the country now - Covid, cost of living, Ukraine, housing, global warming, Brexit etc. this corruption stuff is all small small fry. The Tories would rather have this silly civil war shit than face up to the job of governing.

It's disgusting really. There is so much going on, yet they are making a mockery of the responsibility of running the country. I know most of the issues like war, energy prices, cost of food are not confined to the UK, but I bet most other countries are paying more attention to problem solving than infighting and making a soap opera out of governance.

I don't understand all this jobs swapping, either. How can someone be a Chancellor one day and be Minister of Health shortly after? How is that a sensible approach to managing things? They play musical chairs with job titles. It doesn't inspire confidence.

Lifeomars · 05/07/2022 22:12

I hope so, but I think we will have a painful wait

Misunderestimated · 05/07/2022 22:09

Two men who became multi-millionaires from banking feel honour-bound to quit over matters of integrity?

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 05/07/2022 22:06

Woo hoo! Johnson next! Then a general election please!

Considering you think conservatives are conservative, me or anyone explaining to you what a socialist is will be a colossal waste of time.

IF BloJo is "socialist" then my I'm a direct descendant of Napoleon.
Explaining how and why would obviously be a galactic waste of time ...

Steve Barclay???

How can that be?

He was expansively and viscerally denigrating his Leader only 24 hours ago on R4

Keep your enemies close.

Also “Tory is the Anglicisation of the Irish word toiraidh, literally ‘pursued men’ or more figuratively ‘men on the run’. Particularly in 17th century Ireland, it referred to bandits or outlaws, often those driven from their lands by the Plantations that accompanied the Tudor and Stuart conquest of Ireland.”

tralalom · 05/07/2022 21:32

Pritis turn. Pretty please.

Foronenightonly01 · 05/07/2022 21:30

All that money on the fucking wall paper🙈😂……seriously, you should be allowed to repaint when you take office and get a grace & favour apartment and new bathrooms/kitchens fitted every 10 years but that should definitively be it!!!!

The labour party in its recent incarnation are unelectable in my opinion they are regressive repressive offensive and getting it all wrong for me im really really disappointed

SisterSatan · 05/07/2022 21:14

I am sure Tory supporters and Johnson are all performing 10/10 mental gymnastics to explain this one away. Looking forward to being dispointed he has weaseled his way out of it yet again by morning 👍

Eeksteek · 05/07/2022 21:14

He’ll surround himself with sycophants, and carry on. And more and more of his utter contempt for humanity will come to light. Meanwhile, he’ll swan around making impenetrable speeches, quaffing brandy and attending dinners with his sycophants and the civil service will quietly get on with running the show. With any luck, by the next GE, he’ll have fucked up so often and so badly no one can possibly vote for anyone who ever even met him, and the Labour Party can pull themselves together and find away through the trans issues that the tory’s are throwing them under a bus over and we can get shot of them. But the best thing that can happen to Bozo for those that don’t want a Tory government is for him to have enough rope to hang himself.

Jetstream · 05/07/2022 21:11

Damn, very good TV for those of us not living in thevUK.

pigsDOfly · 05/07/2022 20:16

^^ This.

I can't see him going anywhere either.

He feels he was born to be PM and he'll cling on as long as he possibly can regardless of what's happening around him.

Yes. He won’t go. Why would he? He doesn’t have to, and he genuinely believes it’s his birthright. He’s awesome at it and he’s doing a great job. He always has believed that. And he doesn’t give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks.

Eeksteek · 05/07/2022 21:04

Provenceinthesummer · 05/07/2022 19:19

runner Johnson doesn’t need anyone else to call a GE - he may already have done so for all we know. He simply needs to inform the Queen.

I’d like to be a fly on that wall. With a bit of luck she can pretend to have a moment of I’m-old-enough-to-do-what-i-like-and-not-what-i-ought and poke him with her stick.

Rabbitholedigger · 05/07/2022 21:04

I don’t reckon a Tory majority is a dead cert, certainly come winter when the full magnitude of the shitness of Brexit, price rises and fuel prices kick in.

I think they'll pull it off if they get a new leader now. They'll all distance themselves from Boris the buffoon/philanderer/liar. They'll convince their public they were just as conned by him as they were and the electorate's right leanings will win out.

Spaghag · 05/07/2022 21:03

GCAcademic · 05/07/2022 18:58

Nah, that will be Michael Fabricant, I reckon. The cabinet of the clowns.

Yes. Those of us in South Staffordshire are so proud of our MPs. Fabricant & Pincher in neighbouring constituencies. Fabulous.

Livelovebehappy · 05/07/2022 21:01

Boris will definitely go now. Two senior Tories have gone, which sounds the death nell on his leadership now. Laughing though to hear Starmer demanding a snap general election. He has absolutely no chance of getting into power yet. Maybe in a few years, but I still think labour are unelectable in their current format. Bless him though for trying……

I cant remember a chancellor ever resigning so this is bad news for Boris. It is rats leaving a sinking ship.

Like that tory backbencher said months ago "for God's sake just go".

Javid also resigned when he was chancellor didn't he?
