If Labour came into power

If Labour were to come into power tomorrow, what is it people think they would do better?

Not what Labour governments of the past have done.. I mean Labour 2022. What would be new/better?

I think the OP has f*cked this thread bigtime. You may think a Labour government is the answer, but your failure to set out ideas and alternative theories has revealed the realiity. You don't have much policy to offer -- apart from not being the Tories.

I've given this some thought and the only clearly stated Labour policy I can remember I'd get rid of student loans and tbh I'm not sure that was Labour. It's shocking that all Labour seems to stand for us name calling and virtue signalling I genuinely don't know what they would do.
I think it was lib dems but might be wrong. Most people don't get near to paying their student loan off anyway and just my opinion, but I think it's fair enough to have what essentially is a 'graduate tax' due to the way they take repayments and the thresholds. I do think for degrees with a big placement portion such as nursing shouldn't have to pay anything as they essentially do many many hours on wards and other settings, but that's another debate I expect.

At those rates, I'd be moving to a gentler tax environment. Do you really want to alienate everyone who can afford to pay tax? If all, or even a significant % of, the higher rate taxpayers go offshore then the burden falls even harder on the people (the poorest) who will be left behind.

£25,000 is a very low level to start taxing wealth @Fujimora. That isn't even national median income, which is (I think) about £32k. How many people do you want to drive offshore, with their skills and energies?

They would restore my inner calm. Austerity followed by brexit followed by boris has shattered my ability to feel secure as a uk citizen since 2010.

Agree with this.
And the NI rise would be scrapped.
They'd stop the talks with US insurance companies desperate to get their hands on the NHS.
They'd invest in public sector employment like teachers and nurses, and support and hopefully build up the lack of respect the tories show them.

Probably not alot. My Nan used to say it doesn' t matter which political party is in charge, for the majority of folks life goes on the same, and l think she' s right.
