The question of the British border in Ireland is not a complicated, well it depends on what you mean kind of situation. The provisions were set out in the endlessly negotiated, internationally ratified Good Friday / Belfast agreement.

The PM lied about the situation he had agreed when he said there will be no documentation required because he was talking to Unionist politicians in NI whose purpose in life is to be an integral part of the UK. They did not want any documentation to be required.

Johnson had travelled there to speak with them straight from signing the Agreement which 'Got Brexit done' by agreeing to there being documentation necessary for trade between GB and NI.

What is the point of listening go to a PM who just lies when the truth is uncomfortable? Or is the point that people give up and let them give away contracts for millions, even billions with no provisions to ensure any kind of value for money ?

The interesting thing is that the more the private sector get involved in public services the even less efficient the public services become.
See for example the difference between the vaccine roll out and track and trace.
There is probably a strong correlation between the number of "consultants" on a project and its inefficieny.
