The BBC coverage last night was apalling. To crown (!) it all, their reporter in Parliament Square talked all over the National Anthem as it was being sung by the platform party and the crowd. Utterly disrespectful.

But then their reporters and commentators never do know when to shut up, as was apparent at the D-Day events last year.

Say what you like about Boris, he has energy and optimism and good humour. He doesn't resort to personal attacks. And there are signs that he is willing to take a hard line in the negotiations with the EU. I'm looking forward to watching events unfold.

I've sent a complaint to the BBC over their shocking coverage last night and refusal to show Boris's speech.

Watching news earlier a German journalist interestingly said, the EU want the UK to be successful (as they still want to trade us their goods) but not too successful in case other countries decide to follow in our footsteps. I hope they do.

So all change now from Leavers and Remainers to Remainers and Rejoiners. Not sure I'm quite ready to be called a remainer.

He's probably forgotten, Hospitality . There were a lot of people there. He has the caution of a typical lawyer and mostly chatted about Wiltshire's particular differences and challenges. West Wiltshire is very different to Swindon.

Looks like Boris is gearing up to play hardball with the EU, according to the papers. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how the Cabinet reshuffle goes - should be any time now - because that will tell us a great deal about the direction. I'm getting the feeling that it won't be cosmetic but it certainly won't be as brutal as Theresa's first week as PM either. Remember when she sacked them in droves? Starting with George Osborne? I used to ask questions on there for other guests I got a reply from sturgeon.
