Sally I apologise if my comment made you feel bad.

In full, what I meant was, local councils will cut that kind of thing in favour of funding all kinds of nonsense, even if the money is available. I am actually just having a row with the council today - well yesterday now! - and I do sympathise re the cuts. Unfortunately I don’t know how to get these people to see sense.

Walking I only ever go to bed early when my insomnia has finished me, then I go aboit 11, wake up at 2 and do a big clean or something!

I don’t think anyone has yet surveyed Brexiteers on our sleeping patterns though 😂

I think shenanigans I think budget discussions and whole sections of the budget not yet agreed. An EU summit has been called for February 20th with the intent of total assent at the end of the March plenary - 13 March They have quite a gap to fill with us gone, and they have to negotiate the budget for the next 5-6 years.

Ireland won't be happy, the following is from another political blog I follow: they can expect new EU directives abounding from monetary and banking union later this year. Things like VAT on what goods and what % decided in Brussels, a new EU inheritance system (terrifying considering the Eire property bubble), Corporation taxes (Eire gets 3.5% of GDP from this source) moved to 33% from 12.5% (and pharma, agri-tech, IT companies already moving). Things like receiving 1.18 billion from EU with a pay-in of 1.77 billion, becoming promises of 1.23 billion for a pay-in of 4.32 billion.

Our local council has apparently just announced more savage cuts to adult services.

I have no idea if the Brexit drama on Channel 4 was remotely accurate but if it’s true that Cummings heard “the buzz, the hum” I really hope he’s still tapped into it.

Any one watched the C4 film / documentary Farage: The Man Who Made Brexit?

I have just seen it and it was not what I was expecting. It is very neutral/unbiased (obviously from Farages pov though) has a lot of very interesting behind the scene footage. Its actually very good, would recommended it for all.

Not spoiling anything by summarising it: Brexit goes Farages way in the beginning and he hates Cummings as he is an evil idiot. Then it turns and Brexit goes against Farage and it turns out Cummings is an evil genius. Very entertaining.

We can start trade deal talks on Saturday. But for some reason the EU say they are not ready and need to wait another month before they will be able to get going.

So the non- EU staff I meet regularly are all earning over £30k?

Unless they have Tier 2 visas or entered the UK before the minimum salary requirement.

The policy seems to have more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. Probably best it's being scrapped and replaced Smile
