Sorry, I’m shit at anything involving technology but I can mix a mean cocktail!

time4chocolate · 22/01/2020 21:06

At one point I wondered if I would kick the bucket before it happened. So pleased I'm still here grin

“Surely there’s a happy medium where people don’t expect either Armageddon or sunlit uplands”

There is, it’s here. 😉🍷 (another wine to keep you going...😂)

Bearbehind · 22/01/2020 21:03

Thank you all!

Just leave me in a corner and keep my glass full and I’ll be fine 😁

SilverySurfer · 22/01/2020 21:02

That sounds very posh Lily hope you have a fab time.

I've got half a capon in the freezer, cooked the other half for Christmas Lunch, so shall have that with all the trimmings and some champagne.

I'm not expecting either, Bear. I've set up an intravenous tube of red wine for you - hope that does the trick.

EpicIndividual · 22/01/2020 21:01

Lol.

Relocations can be good for the Soul Bear, as we are discovering over here!

😉🍷 today is a new day.

DustyDiamond · 22/01/2020 21:01

Oh 🐻.....

Of course you can come back 😊
It's a jungle out there 🍷

🍷 Bear.

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 20:49

Is anyone going to a Brexit party?

Me, Silvery. we're having dinner with the Lord Chancellor, Robert Buckland MP, and we will be raising a toast at 11pm on the night.

When I say "we're", I really mean Mr Lily, myself, and about a hundred others. Still. It will be an occasion to remember.

How about you?

Bearbehind · 22/01/2020 20:49

Dear God, please can I come back here otherwise I need to sleep on the streets

As per usual my thread in the Brexit section has gone to rat shit because of Tory haters and Brexit deniers

Surely there’s a happy medium where people don’t expect either Armageddon or sunlit uplands

If not can I just have wine on tap

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 20:45

Had a lovely steak Roquefort and friets with a kriek tonight. Yum

Scary, that sounds positively sumptuous! The Belgians invented steak-frites and make the best. You'll need to fortify yourself before the Channel crossing so any excuse is a good one. Hope you have a safe journey.

XingMing · 22/01/2020 20:30

being resolutely moderate, Lady Tottingham was not persuasive on andrew Neil.

SilverySurfer · 22/01/2020 20:22

Any chance you have a bottle of blood orange Cointreau tucked behind the bar? If so could I have a double please?

For the first time I can believe Brexit is happening, or at least the beginning - it's been a hell of a long wait. At one point I wondered if I would kick the bucket before it happened. So pleased I'm still here Grin

Is anyone going to a Brexit party? I've got a bottle of Tattinger in the fridge for the 31st - hopefully some will be left over to enjoy the next day. Thereafter I shall be drinking English sparkling wine.

scaryteacher · 22/01/2020 20:20

@DustyDiamond Am currently just outside EU central attempting to disentangle ourselves from the final bits of life in Belgium. Drove to the NL and back today to collect Dh's retirement pressie to himself, and we drive back to the UK and then down to Cornwall over the next two days.

Had a lovely steak Roquefort and friets with a kriek tonight. Yum. Need Belgian courage before tackling the Ring in the morning. Not fun.

Tsk now, seems I can't be all quiet. Helps self to the Cask and throws log on fire.

Seems really we have what is known as a 'constellation' of events. Much as I like a good logic problem, finding links, drawing arrows, inventing charts - currently, I'm going to wait for the minor events to take their course before I try to assess what's happening.

I have to say the Beer is excellent this evening - so I'll force myself to have another before I head out into the night and get home (which thankfully, is just next door).

time4chocolate · 22/01/2020 19:26

Ooh what to have from that little line up - I’m gonna neck my wine back and join Epic in a Virgin Dimitri - cheers🍸.

Anyone watching Andrew Neil with guest appearance by ET? I’m running late and still cooking dinner😮 - just wondered if she was running true to form.

HateIsNotGood · 22/01/2020 19:25

Well, the smell of food and a roaring fire always attracts my attention. I'm not going to read back but park my fine behind on the rocker by the fire - supping my Best and munching my Twiglets.

EpicIndividual · 22/01/2020 19:25

Oooooooh this is A CAR CRASH! 😱

hospitalityinspector · 22/01/2020 19:23

It's worth watching on catch up Epic

DustyDiamond · 22/01/2020 19:23

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 19:22

Ahh, Andrew Neil. I'll have to watch it on catch-up...

Thank you, Hospitality.
