I'm not sure The EU actually agreed to Alyn Smith's request, urging them to leave a light on for Scotland. They did applaud along with others, allegedly.

I wish someone would leave a light on for Oor Ian. He's so repetitive that it's unclear whether anyone's actually at home.

To be honest, I wasn't in the least surprised. The Pewty Nissed Snoring Rellies, both strident Momentum members, told me as much when they stayed with us between Christmas and New Year.

Jezza is the victim of Fake News and we are so gullible that we believe everything reported in the evil MSM. Those videos, those photos, the wreath laying, the recorded comments...fake news, all fake.

I did explain that I deliberately read a very wide variety of news sources, all with different political biases, some here and some abroad, and only then make up my mind - but that was dismissed as insufficient. So I asked them which MSM sources they themselves read. The answer was a disdainful None...they get all their info from trusted websites like The Canary and Sqwawkbox.

I should like to make it clear that they are related to me only by marriage...Mr Lily is seriously considering moving and not telling them. He still hasn't got over the trauma.

Also, my thoughts exactly on why should Jezza step down, seeing as it appears that he's everything they want in a new leader, so why bother? I'm sure he'd be up for staying.

Quick summary of FT article...

The election wipe-out was not Jezza's fault, not the election co-ordinators' fault (the report was written by the election co-ordinators, so that must have come as a relief) and not the Party's crystal clear Brexit stance either.

The blame rests squarely on Brexit itself and the likes of KS, ET and LN muddying the clear message about it; on the MSM pillorying Jezza night and day for four years and vilifying him in the eyes of the gullible public; and to some degree, the fault of defecting Labour voters for daring to move away from their approved demographic and exercise their free will in the ballot box.

There's a bit of hyperbole in there but not much.

It does beg the question, though, why should Jezza step down? It's his shadow front bench, the UK media and the electorate that should step down. They really should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Expect reactions to start rolling in today.

I only read the Guardian, Autumn, so Mr Lily doesn't have to. He likes to know what the other side is thinking but the actual preachiness gives him a headache so I summarise for him. If you think the Guardian is an infuriating read, you should try reading Le Monde. It's just like the Guardian but without the banter or the ability to laugh at itself

Scary, any idea what the EU is intending to do on pensions because the difference in age of retirement and provision varies so much across the 27
