I'm afraid rich people paying more taxes won't pay enough to put the NHS right. We have an increasing population, increasing elderly population and an obesity epidemic (the effects of which are yet to be fully felt). Money should be being directed into Public Health (which isn't party of the NHS these days) to prevent illnesses and develop a healthy population for starters. That will help the NHS immensely in the longer term. And the reality is, we'll ALL have to pay more if we want to keep the NHS

Well, I'm an atheist so I'm not going to be thanking any deity for the existence of Jeremy Corbyn! Get real, he's a politician. And it's 'mums' not 'mum's', that's possessive. Not voting Labour myself but also not a Tory voter.

Have you really Presumably they are buying it from illegal sources because the NHS prescription system wouldn't allow you to stockpile it. You get enough for your requirements.

You clearly do not know what you are talking about. You cannot give an exact prescription for insulin because people eat different amounts of carbs every day so it's more of an estimate. Also, when you get sick you need more insulin. Type 1 is very different from type 2. It is possible to stockpile by eating less carbs or asking for an earlier prescription. They don't ask you to proove how many carbs you ate daily over the last two months or so.

The NHS isn’t going anywhere.

The NHS, and society, would be immeasurably better under Labour rule, just look at the policies.

The is overwhelming evidence The Tories would let Big Pharma in, eg protection of the NHS is not legally binding in Johnson's deal (as it was in May's), 10 meetings with Big Pharma, and Labour getting a hold of hundreds of pages of unredacted documents that detail the talks between the tories and big pharma.

I work as a Doctor in the NHS- please vote Labour (or tactically, or just not for the Tories).

This makes me really sad, insulin shouldn't be anywhere as expensive as it is but the companies have a monopoly on production and can basically charge what they like. It makes me feel sick thinking about what those parents have and are still going through.

People complain about the UK, but we are so lucky to live in a country that for the most part takes care of its people (there are exceptions of course). Unfortunately, I don't see it lasting and welfare has already slipped so much.

It's already happening here! Kids with cancer die all the time from not being able to get adequate treatment here and delays in diagnosis. Plenty of drugs are hard to get hold of already. It will get worse with another Tory government.

People really like and are proud of what the conservatives are doing to the country though.
What can you do?

I don't think anyone thinks its simple. They can see what 10 years of austerity have done to the NHS. They can see these elaborate schemes - in my area at least - to prepare the NHS to be divided up. They can listen to the consultants, midwives, doctors etc, begging people not to vote Cons. They know there are not enough staff - they know that Brexit has and will make things far, far worse. They know we rely on much time-sensitive medicine from the EU. And medical supplies from the EU. They understand what a vote for Cons means.

My goodness OP newly joined and only posting about politics and pro-labour! If I was cynical I would start to think that the politicians were taking mners for idiots and thinking that somehow we would decide how to vote based on a few threads on mn . Perhaps the parties should take a look at how many women are going to vote "none of the above" and think about why they are so pissed off a few examples of threads and a pretty picture from my European Election ballot.

There were some leaked WhatsApps the day before yesterday about how Labour were planning to flood the internet to deflect attention from Corbyn and the terrible interview with Andrew O'Neil. I'm no Tory, this is the worst choice of leaders ever, but it really isn't as simple as the NHS will thrive under Labour, and it's being flogged to orange Donald under the Tories.
