I still don't know who to vote for

I'm a lifelong Labour supporter but I just don't recognise the party as it is now. I could never vote Conservative, Jo Swinson's woeful performance has put me off the Liberals and having seen the mess Brighton is in, Green is not an option. I am considering spoiling my ballot paper which grieves me but I can't see that any party is worthy of leadership.

SophieLarsen Labour most definitely did not start selling off the NHS's assets. That was John Major who began that process as I, along with other trade union members, fought against it. There is also significant evidence that the Lib Dems have very concerning links with private health care providers Spire Healthcare. They are their largest campaign donors. Also have massive vested interests in puberty blockers. What absolute joy eh?

Labour won't get a majority. The best, most ethical result we can hope for is a centre left coalition from which, hopefully this Brexit mess could also be resolved finally after all the sheer damage, division and nasty attitudes it has caused.

The people I know in RL who vote Tory are busy complaining that they earn £150k a year and don't get enough tax cuts. They're not bothered about public services or disabled people.

Just vote for Labour, it's the only realistic chance of cancelling Brexit (Lib dems will never get in). Then all we need to do is get rid of Corbyn at the next election

We are now in a position of low unemployment with a genuine choice of direction, with both parties offering major new investment.

However I cannot countenance voting for Jeremy Corbyns Labour party (for goodness sake even 80% of his own MPs voted to get rid of him).

His policies of mass nationalisation, expropriation of the private sector, 4 day week, massive new union powers, £1tn of spending on all kinds of nonsense absolutely scares me to death. My children and grandchildren would be paying for his profligacy for decades to come.

So please think with your head on Thursday and vote Tory.

Please,please do your own research and decide I'm only saying this because there is lot of misinformation on this thread....example "tories are cutting the learning disabilities & autism fund" not true in the slightest what they are actually doing is giving £74m over 3 years to help transition into work,nothing is getting cut. I've seen a lot of lies the last week from both parties well their supporters anyway look through the manifestos and see what's right for you x

In last night's leaders debate Boris Johnson told three whopping lies in opening 90 seconds. He is either a pathological liar or he is incapable of recognising reality from fiction, i suspect the former.

He stated that the Tories will introduce 50,000 new nurses ignoring the fact that over 19,000 of that figure are already existing nurses who they hope to retain, so are not new nurses. He promised 20, 000 more police officers, failing to mention the Tories have cut police numbers by 21,000 in last 9 years, so we are not even getting numbers fully replaced let alone additional officers.

Finally he promised more funding for schools, in reality school funding has fallen by 8% in real terms since 2010. However don't just believe me, go online and google things for yourself and check independent fact checking sites. I will leave you with this little gem though from last week

The UK charity that is an independent fact checker fullfact.org is a great place to start. I go there for an unbiased NO LIES check in what parties have claimed vs what has been found to be true.

Many of Labour's claims for example were found to be completely untrue in their financial, NHS claims etc against the conservatives (so all these memes people are posting here are just more propaganda against the Tories).

It's important to check independent sites. Labour supporters often blindly spout out aggressive "cunt" related bile without actually knowing actual facts. Tory supporters often spout out such lines as "it's all for the workshy" etc. Check independent sites. Don't listen to random bile spouted on mumsnet.

More people stay at home and don't vote than going out and doing it. If they all made their voices heard it could make a massive difference to all our futures.

I just don’t see the point in voting. I live in an area that has voted the same way for 10 years, my vote never makes a difference.

^^ directly from their manifesto - spending figures for those with LD and autism are planned to be £0 in the next 5 years. That's not on top of an existing budget either.

If you do not like tories, vote tactically for the best placed person to compete against them.

If you’re at all concerned about the environment sand your children’s futures do not vote Tory. In a Friends of the Earth report Labour’s manifesto scores 35/50 for the environment, higher than the Green Party but Tories scored 5.

I'm voting labour because I liked the manifesto.. but I'm lucky because labour were second in the running here so hopefully my vote will help them... I hate Boris and the tories more than I like any other party so idve had to vote for whomever might get them ousted in my area... our tory mp is beyond useless as well... I've seen the other ones out and about talking to people and attending events at the town hall.. never once him though, he doesnt care he thinks he'll walk it.... so I hope he gets ousted

My husband and I both work for the NHS so the priority is getting the tories out for us.

In just 3 minutes he exposes the truths the PM does not want you to hear, the bottom line is he cannot be trusted.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that a Labour minority Govt is a far less dangerous option than the Tories winning with a large majority.

The far right are frightening and appear to be gaining in popularity in many countries. I would be past caring about not liking Jeremy Corbyn, Brexit and ruining your votes. The UK will face much worse if the Tories get re-elected and under Boris and it appears they will.

Lowbrow I didn't know all that about Australia. I knew the government were climate change deniers and about the fires and wildlife dying. I can't read too much about it as it upsets me so much. But what you have written sounds truly terrifying. I can totally understand your anger. I hope things change soon.

Look at Australia and see how we are coping with a right wing government. Voters went for a low taxes and a scare campaign. They believed the climate denying Liberal and National party (Tories). The unemployed are now going hungry, there have been budget cuts to hospitals and schools. They had cut the budget to everything and cut taxes for the wealthy. The economy is a mess and people believed our Tories managed the economy better than Labour, which was a lie.

Now Australia is on fire, people have been killed, the wildlife can’t escape and are dying. We are having another drought so everything is dry. Sydney is full of smoke and people can’t breathe. The government tried to ban unions so workers have no one to represent them. They banks have been found to have been ripping off their customers and have no repercussions. The media is being stifled and journalists are being raided by the federal police.

In the meantime our prime minister offers thoughts and prayers. He said how good is the cricket, the fire fighters can enjoy watching it over the summer, how they can do that no one knows while fighting hundreds of fires. Our right wing government has slashed their budget and are relying on volunteers to fight the fires with not a lot of equipment. People have lost everything and it’s been reported of some living in burnt out cars.

Farmers have had their water cut off but there is plenty of water for overseas companies to grow rice and cotton and dry up our rivers.

There is a thing called robodebt and people who have claimed benefits have been told they have debts going back years. The recipients have had to prove they don’t have a debt and some people have committed suicide. In the last two weeks the government has been threatened with court and have stopped robodebt. It has been found the debts were false and they will have to pay people back. The minister for this has said “we will not apologise.”

I am so angry at people who believed the lies of this government. People are saying they didn’t know when they voted. We are only seven months in from the last election. Voters should have realised the government doesn’t care about the average person and they punish those who are struggling. Unless you are filthy rich and don’t want to pay taxes you would be absolute idiots to vote anything else but Labour.
