If we had a General Election next week who would you vote for and why?

I'll continue voting labour because MP is good and he has the sort of values I agree with on the whole. I also am concerned that with the polling of Brexit party in our area (despite no proper manifesto) all reasonable people need to back labour to prevent the idiots in our area who might think Boris some sort ok British Donald Trump.

I used to be open minded. I liked Jeremy Corbyn as an MP. Labour keeping their current leadership is risking more austerity and handing Boris a mandate. I quite liked Ed Milliband and never felt he got a fair hearing.

Conservative. No other reasonable choice.

Posted too soon, I won't vote Labour again until they get rid of Corbyn, McDonnell, Corbyn's 4 eminence grise pulling his strings, Momentum, anti- semitism, and their extremist policies.

Why? I like the local MP who is anti-Brexit and hell needs to freeze over before I would vote Tory (& where I’m sure there’s a special place waiting for Boris & co)

Labour- I am not selfish enough to vote Tory; Stupid enough to vote Lib dem; bigoted enough to vote for UKIP nor naïve enough to vote Green.

I have voted Labour all my life except for last election, I am utterly ashamed of what the party has become.

Agreed. Political parties are bigger than the leader, and not voting for a certain one because the leader wore a grey jacket or has a beard or is a woman etc is daft. Equally daft voting purely because that leader is charismatic and swigs pints in a pub.

Totally agree.

I have at times found Johnson amusing eg on hignfy appearances but that in no way qualifies him to run the country!

Equally I think an awful lot of people dislike Corbyn on a personal level as in they think they would struggle to have a conversation with or be entertained by him, yet that dislike doesn't make him an unfit politician.

And as I've noted there's a shocking number of people who clearly have never even READ let alone carefully considered the actual policies or records of the parties before deciding who to vote for!

I bet the Brexit party don't produce a manifesto if we have a snap GE. That way they can do whatever they want and mean whatever people think they do. Not really spelling out what things mean and a plan worked well for NF in the European elections and the referendum.

Labour, I'm a party member & have a very hardworking MP who went out of her way to help me earlier this year.

Whichever party has the best chance of defeating the SNP candidate so probably Lib Dem.

I could obviously never vote Tory, except as a tactical vote to keep out an neo-nazi party, eg BNP.

I will not vote Labour while Corbyn is leader, for three reasons :
1, He is a Brexiteer who whipped his MPs to vote for A50 and has enabled Brexit at every stage.
2, Current Labour policy is not to stop Brexit at all costs.
3, He is not a credit candidate to be PM of a G7 country, and he never will be.

If I were Scottish, I would happily vote for the SNP, but I’m not, so I would vote either Lib Dem or Green.

Conservative. I’m in a Scottish marginal (very marginal - majority of only 27!) seat, and its the only way to get the SNP out.

Lib Dem's and just like the hung parliament I don't believe this would be a wasted vote currently.

I despair I really do - do you even understand that as far as the Tory party are concerned your circumstances are nobody's fault but your own? That if you do get child benefit, tax credits as far as they're concerned you are no better than the people you're looking down your nose at in your post?

Have you even looked at the Labour Party manifesto or the Tory party's?

Genuinely no idea. Live in a marginal tory seat, so may hold my nose and vote Labour. I don't think Corbyn has long in the job and I don't think they will win an election with him in charge, so hopefully someone competent will take over.

I regularly communicate with my MP and msp (both currently SNP in a seat that swings between SNP and labour) on many matters inc this. But I definitely agree more people should do so.

Last election the Tory candidate made the mistake of knocking at my door without apparently being prepared to answer questions on any of the major issues! Very apologetic but seriously how pathetic is that?!

OH @ I both work full time on a little over minimum wage, but we’re far worse off than several lazy arses in both our families who can’t be bothered working (or work cash in hand) & end up far better off than us with their benefits. I’m sure labour would just give benefit families more money & make employees (who they think are stupid mugs) pay more tax.

Won't vote SNP as I think scoxit would be 10 times worse than Brexit
Won't vote Labour as not supporting an anti- Semitic party with a vision to bankruptcy
Won't vote Lib Dems or green as they don't understand that biological sex can't be changed and they don't respect leave vote
Won't vote Brexit party though I think Brexit would be good as some are racist and they have no other policies
So that leaves vote Tory or don't vote. To be honest I don't think TM even tried to negotiate a deal with EU
