EU elections, Thursday 23 May: are you voting?

Hello

As lots of you will know, eligible electors in the UK can head to the polls on Thursday 23 May to vote in the EU parliamentary elections.

We've put together a page with a few facts about this election in the UK (apologies for not covering other EU countries in any detail but you can find more info here).

Let us know on this thread when you've voted (you don't have to tell us how) and we will reward you with an emoticon of your choice*

Polls are open 7am to 10pm on Thursday and remember you DON'T need your polling card to vote.

I’m going to vote with DH (once he gets back from the airport). I haven’t decided whether to vote LibDem or Green, but it will definitely be one of those options today.

Whole family eligible to vote for the first time, and keen to have a voice. Both DDs ineligible to vote in the brexit referendum, but cannot wait to have their say now! DH already voted, and we all will have by the end of the day.

The attitude of not voting is appalling and embarrassing. Women died for us to have the vote, and if you don’t vote you have no right to complain about anything politically related.

Agree with posters above. I always vote. Imagine if everyone had the 'fuck them all' attitude!

I'll be voting Lib Dem or green. I've never had to decide on the day before.

I’m voting on my way home from my holiday in Cornwall today - will be voting Lib Dem as I am a firm remainer and still holding out hope we can stop all this ridiculous “leaving” malarkey.

Lib Dem voter - they’re the only party that’s always had a consistent anti Brexit position. Hoping for a huge Lib Dem surge. I like change too but the lib dems are getting my vote for their consistency.

You should always vote. You have no right to complain if you don’t vote to affect the situation.

Lib Dem voter here. Large turnout will hit Farage, ‘Robinson’, Sargon and the others.

Hell yeah! Always vote, even in parish council elections. It's a hard won privilege and we're lucky to live somewhere where we can. Green for me.

I love to vote. Be part of it all. It's part of history, however tiny.

I also like to vote for people I know will work hard and actually attend to their roles.
