EU elections, Thursday 23 May: are you voting?

Hello

As lots of you will know, eligible electors in the UK can head to the polls on Thursday 23 May to vote in the EU parliamentary elections.

We've put together a page with a few facts about this election in the UK (apologies for not covering other EU countries in any detail but you can find more info here).

Let us know on this thread when you've voted (you don't have to tell us how) and we will reward you with an emoticon of your choice*

Polls are open 7am to 10pm on Thursday and remember you DON'T need your polling card to vote.

I will definitely vote this evening, just not sure whether for Lib Dems or Greens. Usually vote for Labour and was hoping to vote for Change UK, but according to all pro-Remain sites it will be pointless.

Gina Miller's website is remainunited.org. They recommend votin LibDem.

Remainvoter.com recommends voting Green.

@PanamaPattie because the UK will be using the votes as a soft referendum to gauge where the country is at re Brexit. Which will help them work out how best to move forward in the future.

Might be worth a look at Gina Millers website. They’ve conducted pretty in depth research on how people would be best tactically voting in all of the constituencies/wider regions.

Have voted. Our polling station was very quiet, whereas for the referendum people were queuing down the road at roughly the same time of day. Not sure if that's a good or bad sign.

I will walk to the village hall at lunchtime and vote.

I want my vote against any Brexit-supporting party to have the maximum effect but I'm getting contradictory advice whether to choose LD or Greens.

I'm sick of politicians saying 80% of voters chose Brexit-supporting parties in 2017. It wasn't as simple as that Angry. So I want the message to be completely unambiguous this time.

I’m voting tactically for our area, not a candidate I’d probably support in a GE but best chance of achieving what I hope for.

If you care about Democracy at all then you should be voting for the Brexit Party. Whether you personally like Mr Garage or not - I don't particularly. These elitist buffoons living in their London bubble don't represent me or anyone I know.

This is why I won't vote for the Brexit party, although it's looking like they will come out on top. Let's face it, these people are self interested and lied through their teeth, and pedalled lots of untruths (like more money for the NHS) during the referendum to get votes. I think most people would regard that as something we would not expect from a democratic voting system.

I am a very reasonable person. Law abiding citizen, good parent, involved in local community, foster carer, volunteer etc and I am 100% voting for the Brexit Party.

There are many, many people like me, however you won't necessarily find us commenting on these sort of sites as the mouthy bombastic remainers generally hold sway here.

Can't wait to get in that booth.
