What a shambles - the worst possible outcome.

Right, looks as if we have a government which cannot govern. The most incompetent leader in the history of the Labour Party in opposition who will probably be propped up by the SNP who wants to break up the UK. Then if Mrs. may does resign there is the possibility of that dangerous loose cannon and egotistical idiot Boris Johnson being voted in. For those voters who somehow seem to be considering that this is some kind of a coalition, forget it. Coalitions work together and hung parliaments like this will hang us all.

The tories have done nothing for the deficit. All this stuff about the austerity agenda working is utter utter rubbish.

Britain is divided down the middle with half the population on the far right and half on the far left. There are 11 days to go until negotiation. Not one party has a majority to get things done. Our leader is just about to step down. The British people have rejected discipline and austerity and want to spend their way out of our deficit.

So, can someone please explain to me how this puts us in a stronger bargaining position with Europe?

You know the 3 person embryos that they're developing? Well the average DUP politician would be like one of those - a blend of Margaret Thatcher, Nigel Farage and Ian Paisley all cultured in a petri dish of religious zeal, with all the delights that that entails.

It's good. I voted Tory in 2015 when I thought it was a more moderate and centrist party, where labour didn't seem that. Theresa mays vision of the Tory party isn't what I voted for. And I'm not sure that Cameron's vision quite lived up to mine either. So her seeking a mandate was the correct thing to do. And she's been told she doesn't have one. Needless to say I didn't vote Tory yesterday.

It is yet to be seen if the pros outweigh the cons in a hung parliament in relation to Brexit. TM thought she had a mandate for hard hard Brexit and she effing didn't. She's been cowered. It's good I think.

Someone asked what would happen if there is no coalition. Well, I can remember Harold Wilson having to go back to the country and ask for a proper mandate. He actually got it. Don't think they will do that this time. Oh! The prospect of Boris is looming like a nightmare.

The DUP are the party of the last Ian Paisley.

They are anti-choice, anti-gay marriage, anti-pretty much anything progressive. They are firmly pro Brexit even though leaving the EU and concerns over the border will be massively destabilising to the peace process.

It's hard to imagine their influence being positive but it would at least reduce the likelihood of Northern Ireland being forgotten in upcoming debates.

They can on current numbers form a coalition, and actually, I think a weak government that will last long enough to negotiate brexit and rightly take the fall for the disaster that will be might be the best long term outcome for the Labour Party.

The DUP having a seat at the table of power is the worst possible outcome for everyone

In a years time, the most ardent labour supporters will be wishing away a few seats to have allowed a slim Tory majority to have avoided handing power to the the DUP like this

The problem with this election was there was really no good outcome.

Increased Tory majority - bad
Hung parliament - bad
Any other outcome - v unlikely

Because after the conservatives fucked over the lib dems in coalition their options for coalition are limited.

Although the dup conservatives numbers look more likely to stack that a lab snp alliance

Just read the BBC q and a on what happens next. I get theyre both going to hold talks in an attempt to negotiate a deal but it seems to indicate the likeliest outcome is tm resigning and jc forming a government. Why is that more likely?

I agree it's the worst outcome. I wish we had a clear majority (either cons or labour) because the uncertainty is just going to cause more upset and instability economically.
