What's the youth turnout like at your polling station?

They say they youth vote could swing it from a landslide to a hung parliament. But it also depends on the constituency.

What's the youth turnout like where you live? I can't say because I'm voting by proxy. But I think it would be interesting to collaborate!

What percentage of people are under 35 (roughly)? Are you in a safe seat or marginal? Which party current holds your seat?

Any other thoughts?

A couple of Young people around at ours this am.

This is in Scotland.

My teenager says pals are voting SNP or Conservative along independence lines. No Labour voters in his group!

We are in a former Labour now safe SNP seat.

Tory seat here but hoping that will change. Polling station and car parking spaces outside very busy with over 70's driving up to vote in droves mid morning. I am day off today and I was the youngest there by a country mile and I am 51!!!! Hopefully more young people will vote.

Two other voters when I went at midday, one young, one old. Turnout a bit up compared to the referendum (tally on the door). Inner London probably safe Labour seat.

Midlands tory seat for the last 5 elections - I turned up at 7am and stood in a queue behind 7 people younger than me (I'm 26)

Went to do proxy votes for my parents at a different polling station, same constituancy and walked straight in, only 2 other people in there, one about 30ish and the other 60+.

Looks like being a record turnout here, lots of young voters. I'd say 50% under 30, lots of 18-25s, and it is not a student community. Libdem / Tory London marginal

Sorry but how can you tell how many 'youths' attended today just by looking?

There is also the assumption they would vote Labour.

A fair few I know are voting LibDem and a few Tory.

I was the only person in my (bloody awkward to get to) polling station this morning. There isn't an easy way to walk to where it is, which I'd imagine puts off people who can't drive there and aren't very motivated to vote. I have no idea why they chose this location as a polling station (I live in suburbia on the edge of a city, not somewhere that you might expect a polling station to have no pavement leading to it from anywhere).

At the recent locals an exit poll found 95% of voters were over 65. It's a Tory safe seat, no surprises there.

I was youngest (33) at mine this morning and it was all older folk when we drove past about an hour ago. My DF didn't see any young uns when he went around lunchtime.

I was the youngest at mine this morning (age 34) but I'm on maternity leave. I assume lots of younger people are working/ studying and will go after. That's what I have always usually done.

DH and I were the only young people there, and we are just under 30.

To be fair, though, there were only two other people there at the time, but they were elderly (one was quite rude actually and turned to me and said "it takes 3 people to do one fucking job!" ... I put some distance between us then as I didn't want the staff to think I was associated with her).

Lots of elderly people. Though according to the stats it's actually a young constituency (average age 29).

Tory "safe" seat, cabinet MP who is very active in the community.

My polling station was busier than I've seen it before (it's always got a constant stream, but never a queue, but today, there were more people about).

I was the youngest person there by 20 years at least, and I am the wrong side of 40.

Many 18yos are on A level study leave so they may show up at any time. Mine will be voting some time this afternoon. Of the 4 choices (we have a green), I don't know what she'll choose but I would guess least likely to be this brand of Labour.

I think I was the only one under 35 but in fairness we live in a village where most people are over 50. I think it's a Tory landslide for our constituency in general.

I was the youngest one in my queue....not a long one though. I'm 45.

Dd (18) will be voting after college as will most younger people I'd imagine. It's taken me this many years to vote before work rather than a mad dash afterwards.

Older population here - saw no younger people at all. Ours is a 50/50 Tory/Lib dem seat.
