What's the youth turnout like at your polling station?

They say they youth vote could swing it from a landslide to a hung parliament. But it also depends on the constituency.

What's the youth turnout like where you live? I can't say because I'm voting by proxy. But I think it would be interesting to collaborate!

What percentage of people are under 35 (roughly)? Are you in a safe seat or marginal? Which party current holds your seat?

Any other thoughts?

Well I am dead chuffed to be classed in the youth vote

There was a boy who looked about 13 going in with his mum both with their polling cards when I went, I deliberately went early today and it was quiet and no queue

I would surmise that my ds (aged 20) and I were the only non retired folk there when we were there, but that's a pretty small snapshot of the whole day. Grin
We've had the same (Labour) MP for many a long year, but his 'majority' has gradually dropped from originally being about 30 000, to about 2000 last time. We've had celebs visit this year in the campaign as I think they are worried about how close it is.
I think you are making a jump though to think that if your are "young" (and I know that is a relative statement) you will automatically vote Labour.

My Dcs all voted aged 36, 34, 30 & 28

I voted at 11.30am so most of the young would probably be working/studying. I usually vote at this time and it's the best turn out I've seen, also noticed quite a lot of names had been crossed through, so going to be a good turn out here. Late 40s here, everyone else was clearly retirement age. Very safe tory seat.

I'm 24 and voted at 6.30 with my partner.

Everyone else was fairly.... grey. Although, not many names crossed of the list this long into polling for a safe Tory seat.

Idk, I voted at 8.30am and only saw 4 other voters whilst I was there!

I live in a very student-y area in a university town and there were a number of students at my polling station. The ones I was walking behind were discussing whether a selfie with their voting paper would be enough proof that they had voted to be able to get the free drinks that were apparently on offer somewhere nearby for anyone who had voted.

Well my 10 year old came to the polls at 7:10 this morning.
Apart from that......no youth at that time. Mainly tradesmen, but trade was brisk.

Also I live in a labour age seat and for what it's worth don't know anyone my age and education level voting Tory.

I voted at 7:03am and was one of 3 under 30s. Nobody else there but it was super early.

It's quiet. However I didn't go there to vote as I've already done mine by post. As do a lot of people.

Oh has just been to vote and reported back that there were a couple of teenagers clutching polling cards.

We were youngest at 29. Not many people there, especially compared to Brexit!

Both my uni DC are in very safe seats so chose to vote at home.

My polling station is all students so 95% are under 30 ... massive turn out

We are in a marginal here, just voted 5 mins ago, really pleased what I saw, loads of people there, lots of people my age (30's) gave me a bit of hope!

Well there was just me and dc this morning at 7:30am. A younger chap did look to be on his way, but it would have been stretching it to have called him a youth.

Village polling station here so tumbleweed. I had DS2 (19) proxy vote though and DS1 (21) voted earlier.

Voted at 4.30. Just me, Dh and a couple of seventy-somethings there.

Marginal constituency - university city - but a more "affluent" ward.

when I went I have never seen it so full of people my age (23). 6 people in front of me who were early 20s it looked and loads coming in a group as I left they were on their way to uni by sounds of it so maybe younger than 20. This was at 9.30 this morning. First time I have had to queue as well at that time! Gives me hope.

There was a bit of a queue at mine ( hope that's a good sign for turnout overall) it was mostly people my age (40s) and a lot of older retired people (which is the demographic round here).
There were two very enthusiastic girls voting for the first time.
As per other threads today, no police, refreshments or dogs.

Anecdotal evidence is suggesting a relatively high turnout amongst the young and also some disabled people although I would expect many disabled to do postal votes (depending on disability of course.)

However none of this matters if they all live in relatively safe Labour seats.

I voted earlier at our very rural station.

Teller said "gosh your quite young, first one with kids today!"

We don't have "youth" in my area. It's where tories go to die. I'm a youngster in my mid 30s
