Should Theresa May resign?

Police numbers have been drastically cut at a time when we really need a visible police presence on the streets as well as a huge input in behind the scenes to help detect and prevent terrorist activity.

Theresa May has been directly involved in reducing police numbers. Do you think she should resign?

I think the police response was pretty rapid, not sure she can be held accountable for terrorism and attacks aren't anything to do with a lack of police presence.

I'm not a fan of her party or of her politics in particular, but i think she's a strong leader.

Perhaps she should resign, I don't know the ins and outs of what happened to police numbers and when/why. But only a fool would do the resignation 3 days before a general election.

Bearing in mind the incident was over in 8 minutes I don't see the argument for calling for her resignation.

How do police numbers compare with France where there have been far worse terrorist attacks?

Is it a police thing; or is it more that the security services (MI5? MI6? GCHQ? whoever it is can monitor potential extremists) need more resources?

Also I would imagine it is nigh on impossible to catch the needle-in-haystack indicators that such an attack is being planned.

I'm no fan of Theresa May though!

I suppose she effectively did resign by calling a GE. But I suppose you mean should she step down completely? She's certainly had a disastrous campaign that's for sure, and although I'm still pretty certain the Tories will win, I'd say the clock is ticking for Theresa. I'm sure lots of 'private meetings' are taking place among the more influential Tory party members with plans to oust her. But then they'd have a second unelected PM.
