'I could never support a President who held those views. I can only have contempt for a man who holds those views. I would have to change my whole belief set to feel otherwise. I think what makes me uneasy is that some Trump supporters seem to be saying' we won you have to think like us' .'

That's fine, you can support Hllary or the 172 etc. It is a free country. You don't have to think like Trump fans, and equally they don't need to think like you or Hillary etc It is about freedom and democracy.

'I am not in a panic over lack of control by the elites'

I never said you were in panic. I said the Oxbridge teams at the Guardian and their elite mates are in panic over Trump which is why they are blatantly spinning lies about him.

'Conspiracy theories: So Ted Cruz's dad was involved with the Kennedy assasination?'

It looks like his dad was in a photo with Leee Harvey Oswald. We don''t know the full story.

'Bannon's "newspaper" has run headlines comparing feminism to cancer. Trump's actions show he cares little for women's or civil rights, and he has advocated breaking the Geneva convention several times.'

I think those articles were by Milo who is deliberately provocative in order to wind people up over political correctness. He does it satirically, it is not meant "literally" and the reason he likes Trump the most is because Trump also bursts the bubble of political correctness.

Trump has said lots of contradictory things. You can't take what he says "literally".

'And Trump most certainly does not think that the media has a right to criticise him.'

Trump bullies them and scolds them and disrespects them instead of vice versa. But it is up to them to counter Trump if they can. He owes them nothing as they continually try to smear him and were biased against him throughout, even taking questions from the DNC and allowing Hillary to approve articles written about her etc. They were all in the tank for the Establishment and the elites and Trump beat them all, so he owes them nothing.

'He wants to expand the US nuclear arsenal and has made comments like "why can't we nuke them?" Maybe it was just another joke though. Ha-de-ha-de-ha! '

Trump says one thing one day, and something different the next day. You can't take him literally. He likes to keep opponents and the elites on their toes by being unpredictable. That is part of his negotiating strategy.

''Are you able to answer any of those without mentioning the "establishment" the "elite" "Oxbridge" "Stump for Trump sisters" "spin" or "PPE". : big fat no then.'

Absolutely not, because as I have tried to explain, they are all intrinsically linked to the Trumpocalypse.

And Trump will end the Syrian war and Isis overnight.

Do you have an approximate date for this overnight event? How will he do it?

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 13:00

"He didn't incite violence. he was joking. He said he would pay the legal expenses of anyone who thumped the protestors. But Trump fans didn't take him literally while the media teams took him literally."..... except for the fans who didn't realise it was a joke and did thump protestors.

Conspiracy theories: So Ted Cruz's dad was involved with the Kennedy assasination?

Bannon's "newspaper" has run headlines comparing feminism to cancer. Trump's actions show he cares little for women's or civil rights, and he has advocated breaking the Geneva convention several times.

And Trump most certainly does not think that the media has a right to criticise him.

He wants to expand the US nuclear arsenal and has made comments like "why can't we nuke them?" Maybe it was just another joke though. Ha-de-ha-de-ha!

Thankyou Claig. I think this is where we struggle you see. I could never support a President who held those views. I can only have contempt for a man who holds those views. I would have to change my whole belief set to feel otherwise. I think what makes me uneasy is that some Trump supporters seem to be saying' we won you have to think like us' . I can't and won't. I am not disagreeing with Trump because I have been brainwashed by an elite media conspiracy, this is who I am. It gets quite tiring having to keep explaining that. To you the apology makes it ok , or the issue is just not that important to you. To me it affects how I view all his policies. He may be the voice of the people but not the voice of this person. I am not in a panic over lack of control by the elites, I am just utterly sad that a man who holds those beliefs can be President. Thankyou for answering my question though.

claig · 24/11/2016 12:36

And Trump will end the Syrian war and Isis overnight. All Hillary Benn's and the so-called socialists' or Establishment socialists and Blairites' posturing will be as nothing compared to the action that Trump will take to bring peace.

OP posts:
claig · 24/11/2016 12:33

Trump has ended what all the socialists and Blairite phonies could only ever talk hot air about

"Whatever you think of him, Donald Trump is right – if you knew what TPP and TTIP stood for, you'd pull out too

Many people do not understand what these trade agreements mean so let me spell it out. They promote trade liberalisation. This essentially means opening up public services to corporate takeover and limiting our ability to control banks"

www.independent.co.uk/voices/donald-trump-tpp-what-is-ttip-trade-deals-international-stood-for-neoliberal-corporate-takeover-a7433516.html

That is why the elites are in panic. They are not dealing with a Blairite, with a phoney, with an Establishment appointee, they are dealing with Trump and they have no control over him whatsoever.

OP posts:
claig · 24/11/2016 12:23

'What do the trump supporters think about the views he expressed on assaulting women.'

Everyone was disgusted by it and so was Trump who apologised about it.

OP posts:
claig · 24/11/2016 12:21

'do you think that Trump stirred up shit and fanned the flames of division and anger in order to win votes?'

No. He did say some things as a shock tactic in order to differentiate himself from teh "career politicians" in order to show the people that he was tough and would kick Establishment ass, but the people took him "seriously but not literally" while the media teams took him "literally but not seriously".

'What do you think about the violence he incited at rallies?'

He didn't incite violence. he was joking. He said he would pay the legal expenses of anyone who thumped the protestors. But Trump fans didn't take him literally while the media teams took him literally.

'What are his plans for the huge army he wants to build if he's going to be isolationist and peaceful?'

He won't use it. He said we will be so strong that no one will mess with us, we won't need to use it.

'Do you believe all of the conspiracy theories pushed by his team? '

What conspiracy theories? The Wikileaks leaks were not conspiracy theories, they were leaked emails of insiders.

'What do you think about his attacks on feminism and human rights? '

What attacks on feminism and human rights?

'Do you think the media should be allowed to criticise him, or is that "disrespectful"? '

Of course they should be allowed to. I think it is "disrespectful" of the Oxbridge teams to call him racist etc, but I don't care if they call him that because it just exposes them for the liars they are and more people see through their Establishment spin.

'What do you think of his environmental policies? '

I think they are fantastic. I just hope that the elites don't get to him and force him to back down. I hope he maintains the truth and exposes the lies.

'What do you think of his attitude to nuclear weapons?'

He said that nuclear is the biggest problem, not global warming and I think he is right.

'Do you think it's right for him to interfere with another countries energy policy or ambassadorial appointments?'

I don't care. He is about to be the President of the United States, so he can say what he likes. It is up to the Establishment to decide whether they agree with him or not.

'Why did it take him so long to disavow neo-nazis? '

It didn't, he has disavowed them lots of times. He did it again in the New York Times meeting. the media teams always bring this up to try to knock Trump, but he condemns it everytime they bring it up

"UNKNOWN: Mr. President-elect, I wanted to ask you, there was a conference this past weekend in Washington of people who pledged their allegiance to Nazism.

TRUMP: Boy, you are really into this stuff, huh?

PRIEBUS: I think we answered that one right off the bat.
Interactive Feature: Trump Tower, the Center of the Political Universe

UNKNOWN: Are you going to condemn them?

TRUMP: Of course I did, of course I did.

PRIEBUS: He already did.

UNKNOWN: Are you going to do it right now?

TRUMP: Oh, I see, maybe you weren’t here. Sure. Would you like me to do it here? I’ll do it here. Of course I condemn. I disavow and condemn."

www.nytimes.com/2016/11/23/us/politics/trump-new-york-times-interview-transcript.html

'Are you able to answer any of those without mentioning the "establishment" the "elite" "Oxbridge" "Stump for Trump sisters" "spin" or "PPE".'

No, that would be impossible, because they are interlinked and intrinsic to the Trump Revolution, also known as the People's Revolution over the Elites.

Another new definition: "analyst" = tinfoil hatted conspiracy nut.
Mind you, Chrisnumbers thought that the snoopers charter will bring down mumsnet, so we have some resident "analysts" on here.

birdsdestiny · 24/11/2016 12:18

Still no answers to the questions about trumps views. What do the trump supporters think about the views he expressed on assaulting women.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/11/20/profile-general-james-mad-dog-mattis-who-may-be-donald-trumps-ne/

From that well known lefty liberal pinko rag, the Telegraph.
It's actually pretty generous to him, but this quote stands out:
In 2005 he attracted controversy telling the audience of a panel discussion that "it's fun to shoot some people".
Nice guy!

claig · 24/11/2016 12:06

'There's a difference between giving voice to discontent and being an arse.'

Of course there is a difference between Trump and Blair

'After Jan 20, when Trump takes over.

How soon after, any idea?'

Within 6 months to a year.

Of course, there are some analysts saying that the globalists are so desperate that they may start a world war before Trump gets in. Hopefully none of that will happen.

So Claig, do you think that Trump stirred up shit and fanned the flames of division and anger in order to win votes? Do you think this might have been an irresponsible thing to do? What do you think about the violence he incited at rallies? What are his plans for the huge army he wants to build if he's going to be isolationist and peaceful? Do you believe all of the conspiracy theories pushed by his team? What do you think about his attacks on feminism and human rights? Do you think the media should be allowed to criticise him, or is that "disrespectful"? What do you think of his environmental policies? What do you think of his attitude to nuclear weapons? Do you think it's right for him to interfere with another countries energy policy or ambassadorial appointments? Why did it take him so long to disavow neo-nazis?

After Jan 20, when Trump takes over.

How soon after, any idea?

Lweji · 24/11/2016 12:00

But he was only giving voice to what the people had been feeling and wanting someone to say.

There's a difference between giving voice to discontent and being an arse.

claig · 24/11/2016 12:00

'When I found out that Trump was appointing a general with the nickname "mad dog"'

I think you are referring to the esteemed general known as "Mad Dog" Mattis, an excellent choice, but he has not been confirmed yet as Secretary of Defense.

Trump asked Mad Dog what he thought about waterboarding and Trump was very impressed by what Mad Dog said

"Mattis to Trump: Beer, Cigarettes Work Better Than Waterboarding
...
In his meeting last week with the man he calls "Mad Dog Mattis," Trump said he asked, "What do you think of waterboarding? He said I was surprised he said, 'I've never found it to be useful.' "

Trump said Mattis told him, " 'I've always found, give me a pack of cigarettes and a couple of beers and I do better with that than I do with torture.' "

Trump said he was not entirely convinced. "I'm not saying it changed my mind. Look, we have people that are chopping off heads and drowning people in steel cages, and we're not allowed to waterboard. But I'll tell you what, I was impressed by that answer" from Mattis.

www.military.com/daily-news/2016/11/23/mattis-trump-beer-cigarettes-work-better-waterboarding.html

Trump listens to teh advice of experts like Mad Dog.

claig · 24/11/2016 11:55

'the minute Trump opened his mouth to call his opponents names.'

But he was only giving voice to what the people had been feeling and wanting someone to say.

Trump said

"Hillary Clinton is a vessel for the corrupt global establishment that is raiding our country"

Trump is a vessele of the people, the voice of the people which is why the elite will never be able to pull the plug on Trump's twitter account.

"Let Trump be Trump", let the people laugh and the elites panic.

OP posts:
squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 11:53

Glass: I am trying to be optimistic. When I found out that Trump was appointing a general with the nickname "mad dog" I thought, maybe it's an ironic nickname and he's renowned for his reason and common sense.
Turned out it wasn't ironic.

claig · 24/11/2016 11:51

'So when is all the good stuff going to start happening?'

After Jan 20, when Trump takes over.

'I had always thought that there system was designed to stop someone like Trump taking power.'

But don't you understand why the revolution happened? Have you not read the threads?

"Lawrence Solomon: Donald Trump was made to destroy the establishment

Twitter Google+ LinkedIn Email Typo? More

Pundits who blame the anger of Republican voters for the creation of the Donald Trump juggernaut aren’t wrong, but they’re looking at second-order effects. The root cause of the anger that has catapulted Trump to the top is the Republican establishment, which time and again betrayed the voters who elected it; the result of the anger is a Republican electorate intent on destroying the establishment

business.financialpost.com/fp-comment/lawrence-solomon-donald-trump-was-made-to-destroy-the-establishment

It is a revolution. People have had enough of the Establishment, the spinners and Bliars, and it is the same across the world.

'That is one of the reasons I'm scared '

There is no need to be scared. The people who voted for Trump aren't scared. We are all free of the liars and scammers, the Wikileaks exposed insiders and corrupt classes who conned the people.

My kitchen is a bit dated, and some of the cabinets are held together with Gaffa tape.
Should I save up to improve it, or do you think I'd be better off blowing up my house?

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 11:48

Lweji, I think in Claigese the "establishment" = Neither batshit not a nazi.
"The people" = less than 50% of those who voted.

Lweji · 24/11/2016 11:48

Have you some respect for Trump fans and the American people.

Oh, dear.

I think respect went out the window the minute Trump opened his mouth to call his opponents names.

squishysquirmy · 24/11/2016 11:45

I have always held a lot of respect for America. All the Americans I know are clever, well informed people and I had always thought that there system was designed to stop someone like Trump taking power.
That is one of the reasons I'm scared - if it can happen in America, we're all a lot more vulnerable than I used to think.

Lweji · 24/11/2016 11:44

Do you think the Stump for Trump Sisters and the millions of Trump fans would have voted for an Establishment shower?

It's not about what people voted for, but what they are getting.

Like I said, I feel sorry for the voters and fans.
