A parallel thread to the other one that is running.

So far early voting is running at a record high. Looks like they are favouring Clinton at present. High Latino turnout. Overall the polls have tightened though and I think that many are in their margin of error.

Mexican peso has plunged 6%.

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 02:44

NY Times algorithm is predicting Trump on 53%. [gloom]

HearTheThunderRoar · 09/11/2016 02:43

Oh really?! I was on a reputable NZ news site, maybe time to change sites...

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 02:38

It feels exactly the same! Shock

MakeItStopNeville · 09/11/2016 02:32

I'm officially nervous. It feels kind of like Brexit night as the media is freaking out.

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 02:28

"Trump supporters creeping to the polls unnoticed by the pollsters" Commentator on R4.

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 02:19

I think the difference is that urban precincts declare later than rural ones.

I've got the BBC, Sky, PBS, slate, (but they are voter estimates).

Four states to watch:
Florida
Michigan
Virginia
Pennsylvania

I've cracked and opened up my first pint - couldn't wait any longer. Only hope it doesn't turn out I'm drowning my sorrows! Grin

And now I'm hearing of a Trump surge! Shock

MakeItStopNeville · 09/11/2016 01:58

Where are you watching? Trump is winning in Texas according to ABC and NBC. It's closer than I would have expected there though.

ClashCityRocker · 09/11/2016 01:51

What are you guys looking at? The guardians got one forecaster tweeting that Florida is 125k ahead for trump, apparently Sad

HearTheThunderRoar · 09/11/2016 01:46

Ooh Clinton is winning in Texas

Very concerned about Florida now

HearTheThunderRoar · 09/11/2016 01:39

Clinton is still ahead in North Carolina

hotmail124 · 09/11/2016 01:35

still looking a bit twitchy in Florida

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 01:28

Cautiously optimistic.

Same here. But why do I still have a knot in my stomach?

hotmail124 · 09/11/2016 01:25

Cautiously optimistic.
Democratic commentators look very smiley, the Trumpenistras don't.

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 01:21

Pa projected Hillary on 50%, Trump on 46%

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 01:19

Uh oh, it's narrowing in Florida - but Ohio's looking good.

8 polling stations staying open in N Carolina - it's going to be a long night!

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 01:08

Florida trending towards Clinton! Grin

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 00:47

Breaking news:

There's been a shooting in California - one person dead - polling station closed.

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 00:45

Fascinating listening to Republican commentators defending their support for Trump.

They have to tie themselves in knots!

I just heard one say, "He didn't insult all Latinos." "He was talking about illegal immigrants."

Grin

This is the phoney war - waiting for the battleground state results! Confused

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 00:27

In Indiana, Clinton is polling better than Obama did in 2012 - she's not going to win there, but it's quite indicative! Smile

Breadandwine · 09/11/2016 00:25

I've got my beer in the fridge! Grin

1.00 NH, Fla and Pa declare
2.00 Colorado and Arizona
3.00 Nevada and Utah
4.00 California

I'm led to believe.

Commentators are already forecasting the demise of the GOP (stands for Grab Our Pussies according to Bill Maher! Grin)

HearTheThunderRoar · 09/11/2016 00:24

Virginia still extremely tight, however Trump has a slight lead

Destinysdaughter · 09/11/2016 00:19

Don't think I'm going to stay up late, but do genuinely feel hopeful!

hotmail124 · 09/11/2016 00:16

Thank you for the cheery stats, bread

Not a single living US President voted for #Trump as a spokesman confirms George W. Bush and wife left their ballots blank.

Clinton has Vermont.

A Polling station in North Carolina will remain open for another hour due to technical issues.
