Oct 20th 2 am UK time.

Last chance for the Establishment to stop the Trump surge in the polls.
World leaders will be watching, Establishments will be tuning in on the edge of their seats in trepidation.

People will be laughing, diving into the popcorn and knocking back the alcohol.

Round 3. Rock'n'roll.

On SNL and Trump, did you see the comments to his comment? Grin

Which MNetter wrote: "U k hun?"

And something like: are you 12?

Lweji · 17/10/2016 10:08

I'll just put a reminder here, though.

It IS a sin to sexually assault women.

Boosiehs · 17/10/2016 09:30

I was about to post a response to some comments above, but then I realised the futility of trying to show Drumf supporters quite what an idiot he is. they are seemingly blinkered to anything but spouting what an establishment shill Hillary is.

Having said that..... have you seen his comments about SNL? Hilarious.

2015 - great show - look how easily I take a joke.
2016 - they are big blue meanies and I don't wanna play anymore....

Lweji · 17/10/2016 09:28

What is sad is that the Democrats seem to be pushed further right too.
Since when it's a sin to want to legalise illegal immigrants or dream of open borders? It's only a sin when immigrants are demonised and the administration doesn't want to take responsibility for economic problems.
Having said that, employment got worse due to the crisis inherited by GOP administration lack of regulations, and has got better. Unlike what GOP claims.

BigChocFrenzy · 17/10/2016 09:23

If the Republicans had just chosen a moderate, who said they would cut back immigration to what business needs, they'd have thrashed sleazy Clinton.

But they continued to the far reaches of wingnut mode
Because the GOP is now the Party of Hate
It didn't used to be.
I hope they get thrashed, to save the country. It might also save the Republican Party.

Lweji · 17/10/2016 09:21

My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders

I don't see anything wrong with that dream. Ideally, it would mean countries would be prosperous enough for the trade to be reciprocal.
It's classified as a dream not as a policy for the next 4 years.

fourmummy · 17/10/2016 09:00

But that speech anticipates future migration flows. It does not only reference the illegal migrants in the county ("My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders [...]).

BigChocFrenzy · 17/10/2016 08:56

I've been a higher rate taxpayer for decades

Have I been a sucker to subsidise poor people ?

I paid for the nhs, even though I have had comprehensive private health insurance for 30 years
I paid for schools although I chose to be childfree
I've paid for tax credits, disability allowances and all the other benefits I've never received in my life

No, I don't feel cheated.
The better off MUST subsidise the poor in a civilised country.

I haven't subsidised private healthcare for anyone though.
Obviously that's likely to raise premiums for the better off.
Subsidising via income tax would have spread the load less painfully

Trump's voters are typical rightwing conservatives: very angry that poor people can't just be left to die
It's their own fault they're poor, right ?

So, with that logic, it must be the fault of Trump's voters of they can't do well under globalisation.
Why should the "elite" subsidise Trump's voters ?
e.g. His core vote don't have college degrees, so clearly they haven't bothered to equip themselves to thrive in the modern knowledge-based skills economy.

Lweji · 17/10/2016 08:29

Read what she said.
She talked about legalising those already there, instead of rejecting them.
Not full open borders.

Even Trump has backed down on expelling hard working illegal immigrants.

Still, many issues have most to do with administration failings than immigration per se.

fourmummy · 17/10/2016 08:07

Lweji - but Hillary's sentiments don't make any sense. If you have 80-odd million unemployed and a quarter of the population of food stamps, then why encourage more people? Why not put all that effort into programmes to get the unemployed and poor back into work?

Lweji · 17/10/2016 06:43

"This is about last Friday when the networks spent 23 minutes on the Trump tape," he said. "And less than one minute all three networks combined less than one minute on the Hillary Clinton’s secret speeches that were being revealed on WikiLeaks."

maybe because Trump revealed and admitted to sexual assault, vs Hillary being in favour or immigration?

Sure, that's the same level of shock and seriousness in relation to their character.
And if you think they're the same, claig, shame on you.

Lweji · 17/10/2016 06:40

So, Hillary tells people of a country that was and has been built by immigration that being opposed to any immigration is unAmerican?
Shock horror.

Immigrants are usually easy targets for blame, but actual evidence doesn't back it up. Certainly not at the level of the current electorate perception.
Even Trump wants to encourage some level of immigration, although more of the use and throw away kind.

From the link:

"That’s why immigration reform is so important. [...] Get it fixed so that the people who have been here working hard, building futures, are given the chance to become American citizens. There’s no requirement that they do, but they would be given that path to citizenship,”

“And what I really resent most about the obstructionists is they have such a narrow view of America.[...] They can’t figure out how to invest in the future, so they cut everything.”

“They just have a backward-looking view of America. And they play on people’s fears, not on people’s hopes, and they have to be rejected. [...] They have to be rejected because they are fundamentally unAmerican [sic],”

dailycaller.com/2016/10/15/hillary-in-goldman-sachs-speech-people-who-oppose-immigration-are-un-american/#ixzz4NJkbCWdf

I don't see much wrong with that.

WinchesterWoman · 17/10/2016 04:47

That life news is quite interesting. So as well as Syria he disagrees with Pence on abortion?

"Gingrich: 20 Media Executives Are Launching A "Coup D'Etat" Against Millions Of Trump Voters
...
"This is about last Friday when the networks spent 23 minutes on the Trump tape," he said. "And less than one minute all three networks combined less than one minute on the Hillary Clinton’s secret speeches that were being revealed on WikiLeaks."

"I think it’s amazing that Trump is as close as he is right now, considering the one-sidedness of the news media barrage," Gingrich said."

They are desperate to stop Trump because he is going to smash the globalists who are their bosses.

Planned Parenthood will probably have to split its abortion part off and the other services will be funded by the taxpayer and the abortion part won't. The Clinton Foundation and other charities would then probably fund the abortion part, it wouldn't come from the taxpayer.

Trump has to go along with the majority Republican movement and the evangelicals whether he agress with them or not, but he supports the rest of Planned Parenthood.

Yes, he is cutting taxpayer funding for abortions

No, he's proposing to take away funding for all PP's operations whilst it continues to provide abortions. So that's services like help in preventing and treating STDs, vasectomies, contraception, and breast and cervical cancer screening. And, for all he talks about diverting funds to community health centres, that really isn't going to fill the gap - particularly if they want to offer help with terminations also.

So, if you're poor and female, forget having autonomy over your own body in Trump's world.

"Hillary In Goldman Sachs Speech: People Who Oppose Immigration Are ‘Un-American’

dailycaller.com/2016/10/15/hillary-in-goldman-sachs-speech-people-who-oppose-immigration-are-un-american/

New Labour were a copy of the New Democrats who came before them. The Oxbridge graduates in New Labour copied their American counterparts. That is how it works. They are all the same and they all want the same and work for the same global elites and banks who want to destroy the sovereignty of independent nations in order to push through their globalisation that the bought and paid for political class say is inevitable and cannot be challenged.

We beat them in Brexit in the UK and now Trump is taking them on in America. If Trump wins, it is curtains for the servants of the elites and bankers worldwide.

'Defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions*, and re-allocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.'

Yes, he is cutting taxpayer funding for abortions

"Calls To Cut Off Planned Parenthood Are Nothing New

Republican calls to defund Planned Parenthood over its alleged handling of fetal tissue for research are louder than ever. But they are just the latest in a decades-long drive to halt federal support for the group."

www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2015/08/03/429026760/the-attack-on-planned-parenthood-funding-is-the-latest-of-many

'No sensible newspaper can support that stance.'

Then why did they support Reagan's stance?

The reason they are all against Trump bar none is because he challenges the globalists' free trade deals and warmongering, not because of Planned Parenthood.

From Trump's own desk:

"I am committed to:
- Nominating pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.

  •  Signing into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would end painful late-term abortions nationwide.
  • Defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions, and re-allocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.
- Making the Hyde Amendment permanent law to protect taxpayers from having to pay for abortions."

No sensible newspaper can support that stance.

Watch the BBC Newsnight report on Trump fans in Youngstown Ohio. A father of four who works in a factory has to work in a doughnut shop at night as well in order to survive and Obamacare has just increased healthcre premius for the family. They are squeezing ordinary people and they can't afford it and that is why they are voting Trump - for better jobs, safer jobs, the end of globalisation and their jobs and futures being sold out to Brazilain bankers by insiders and politicians who are paid $250,000 for speeches to bankers and elites whose bidding they really do instead of serving the American people.

Trump said "Hillary Clinton is a vessel for the corrupt global establishment that is rading our country".

It is all coming to an end and the entire Establishment is panicking because Trump is going to beat them and he will lock some of them up.

If you had a law that made it explicit that healthy people are going to pay in and sick people are going to get subsidies, it would not have passed," he added.

Thank goodness he wasn't around when the National Health Service Bill was going through Parliament in 1945/6.

claig · 16/10/2016 23:20

'What utter bastards to have such laws.'

Premiums have almost doubled in some areas. People can't afford it. Average income is down $10000 in Ohio as shown in the BBC Newsnight report. People in America work hard, two or three jobs to keep their head above water. They don't have the welfare we have, there is less protection for them. They are squeezing ordinary people deliberately as the 1% make profits in order to create a failed system to introduce a socialised single payer system where teh government will ration services just as they do in the UK where some bureaucrats on £200,000 have decided that people who are obese or smoke won't be able to receive the minor operations that the rest of the public are entitled to. The Americans don't want that. They want the best treatment they can get for their money without government rationing by bureaucrats and insiders.

'The US now has a fence and people go under it, around it or fly over it. '

It doesn't extend far enough. Hillary was for the fence and the border and so was Billy, but now that Trump is all the hypcorites and elites have turned on him. Trump will improve it and let ICE do their job and expel illegal immigrants.

OP posts:
claig · 16/10/2016 23:12

'or that include disbanding Planned Parenthood because that's the way to disaster for them as papers'

Trump is not disbanding it. He says it does good work for womens' health. Unlike most of the rest of the Republicans, he will continue funding it with taxpayer money, but not with public taxpayer money for abortion because the majority of Republicans and Evangelicals etc oppose that. But he is not disbanding it,.

'So could it be that they won't endorse Trump for those reasons plus the ones previously stated,'

No because they endorsed Bush and Reagan who are less liberal than Trump. They all oppose Trump because he is against their free trade deals and warmongering with Russia and wars for profit across the world, and Trump's insistence on US sovereignty which harms their bosses commercial interests plus they fear what he will do to the lot of them.
