Absolute bollocks. And MN is so pro Corbyn it's ridiculous. There was a thread the other day saying that Corbyn was right to use that photo of him sitting in a train floor because he was making a point of principle. So it's ok to lie in the most obvious and stupid way, because you're making a point? . Quite apart from the deliberate attempt at deception, it shows a shocking lack of judgement to have tried it on in circumstances when the truth could so easily be discovered. Hardly leadership material.

If a Tory MP had done similar he would had his arse handed to him and he would be out of a job, and quite right too.

Yes the tabloids are bias against Corbyn that is the usual stance against a Labour leader. He works against the media to. Blair worked with the media, went more to the centre and won three consecutive elections

And the only people who fear Corbyn are the Labour supporters who do not not support him as we know he will never ever be PM and will not even gain a big enough majority to worry the Tories and has lead a useless opposition when it has been handed to him on a plate

Membership did nothing to help Labour in the local elections (worse results for an opposition party in over 25 years) this has been the only true test he has had to see how popular the Labour Party is with the electorate since being a leader but it will keep his position safe

Give him another year two maximum and people will get bored of the spin of anti establishment, the establishment trying to undermine him, the man of principle and the constant attending of rallies and giving speeches filled with crowd pleasing statements and little work on how to get labour back into power with workable policies that is backed up with plans other than a rise in taxes

I am hoping sooner rather than later his support dwindles then Labour can get a chance to get a Leader who might just get a chance at being PM though I think that is unlikely now given the time frame but they could gain a stronger opposition to the Tories after 2020 GE as Corbyn won't

Whoever Corbyn goes up against now in the leadership he will win so no point in putting up a really good candidate

No one knows where it will end,

In the short term (3-4 years), it creates a situation in which a government with a very small majority face no real opposition in Parliament.

In the medium term (4-9 years) it creates a situation in which a conservative government will have a significantly increased majority and the opposition will be formed by inexperienced and unprepared politicians.

Neither are healthy for democracy and I say that a Conservative.

In the long term, you're right, none knows.

I agree that there is bias against Corbyn and pretty much anyone in the Labour party - always has been, except for the brief Blair/Murdoch love in.

I still don't like Corbyn though and that's partially down to the "Corbynistas" and "momentum" (but not solely). Family and friends who fall into those camps have confirmed the media bias as being correct tbh but I'm more than sure there are sane level headed supporters out there

Membership in my ward has gone up from approx 50 to 350 in the last year due to the Corbyn effect - not a single person has turned up to any ward or constituency events so maybe not so energised after all (I know 2 of them personally, they have zero interest in the Labour Party, just Corbyn). Obviously I'm not saying they are all disinterested, and tbf not many of the original 50 turn up to much (myself included!) but I do know that the ward secretary and a regular attendee have personally been to each new members house to drop off handwritten invitations and make face to face introductions where possible to welcome them into the party. Maybe they have frightened them all off

I totally agree and And it is worrying. I'm not a big fan of Corbyn, I voted for him to become leader and have been disappointed by him since. I wanted him to shake things up but he hasn't done or said anything other than rally the far left troops which I'm not convinced is a good thing

However, saying all of that, the media are sooo worried that an anti establishment left winger gains any credence it makes me wonder what they are so scared of. It has my mind in a spin.

Still, the thought of a Tory Gov for the next ten years terrifies me. There's no public appetite for socialism so it's all a bit pointless.

Oddly enough myself and mil were discussing this subject over dinner and were getting irate about all the 'loony left' bilge in the tabloids.
