What happens if Trump wins?

I know the comments Trump has made about blocking Muslims from the USA, and building a wall between the states and Mexico. But what will the world look like if he becomes president? People seem to be afraid of his success and suggest we 'should push the button now' or that he will be assassinated. Surely he comments are to stir up media interest?

And there aren't any Republicans ditching Trump...?

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 14:16

I heard that the Bernie supporters who are voting for Trump aren't doing it because they think he's any good; they're doing it to spite Hillary because they hate her.

Little OT, but I saw a loooot of misogyny when it was Bernie vs Hillary. I think a lot of it was subconscious though/

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 14:13

How can you be over -educated? Confused

Threesoundslikealot · 05/08/2016 14:13

Claig, he says it. He says these things. His team say these things.

Two African-American individuals support him vocally. He has virtually no support from black voters. The day to day experience of the poor African-American community he claims to be planning to help is materially worse because of his campaign.

His polling across the board is abysmal right now - way under 40%. He is even losing white men.

claig · 05/08/2016 14:10

'And why do you believe him on this?'

Because what alternative is there but to believe him? Under Hillary, Establishment globalist policies will continue as will wars which is why many Democrat delegates were chanting "no more wars" in the Democratic Conference and is why 20% of Bernie supporters say they will vote for Trump, and lots of Bernie supporters say they will not vote for Hillary.

claig · 05/08/2016 14:07

'If Trump doesn't believe what he says when he peddles racism and hate, why say it?'

He doesn't, that is the media pushing that line.

'It's all very well for you to feel free to ignore it, but it's less easy to do so when you're a minority whose rights are being attacked in public discourse'

Diamond and Silk are minorities who used to be registered Democrats and "ditched and switched" simply to vote for Trump and no other Republican puppet. They are his biggest fans. If you want to hear it how it is, go to their youtube channel and listen to the real deal.

'Doesn't any of this distress or concern you? How can it not? How can you even begin to suggest that Trump and Clinton compare in levels of honesty, probity and decency?'

You have fallen for the medi induced Guardianista bubble that everyone who votes for Trump is an evil racist. Nearly 50% of Americans are likely to vote for Trump. Diamond and Silk are not racist, they just want Trump to restore common sense.

As the Telegraph article so rightly said

"Donald Trump is giving the over-educated geeks who run the world a sharp lesson in reality"

and they don't like it.

TheDowagerCuntess · 05/08/2016 14:04

Trump is ending it and bring jobs back s that the 58% of African-American youth who are currently out of work, can find jobs and hope again.

What Trump says, and what Trump has the first clue about how to actually do, are two quite separate things.

The average Trump supporter doesn't seem to realise this, which of course works massively in his favour.

He fully admits anything he says should just be taken as a 'suggestion'.

Anti-intellectualism (as with Brexit) indeed...

Lweji · 05/08/2016 13:58

Trump is ending it and bring jobs back s that the 58% of African-American youth who are currently out of work, can find jobs and hope again.

How? And why do you believe him on this?

claig · 05/08/2016 13:55

'Ah, so Trump for you is the least worst option?'

Yes, Trump is not perfect, he makes mistakes and may not do some of the things he says.

'Why?'

Because Trump is for common sense, just as Hillary and Cameron were for Remain, whereas Trump and the majority of the people were for Brexit.

'Based on her record, I do think Hillary has at least the willingness to address social issues and protect the weakest. '

Hillary has had to change her position on TPP under the Bernie and Trump onslaught, but Hillary and the Establishment have long backed the free trade deals that have destroyed jobs and Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. Trump is ending it and bring jobs back s that the 58% of African-American youth who are currently out of work, can find jobs and hope again.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 13:47

The amount of people who agree with his bullshitting/lies/what he actually believes/etc is really, really disturbing. I'm not foolish, I know there's still a long way to go for women and minorities, but I thought we were better than this. Makes me sad to see the FB comments, so excited for Trump because he will get rid of/punish [insert minority/women here] is just.. Well, fucked.

StorminaBcup · 05/08/2016 13:46

This thread is like an itch you can't scratch.

Claig - can we have a copy of your dictionary? You seem to have a glossary of terms that contradict the conventional meanings Smile

Threesoundslikealot · 05/08/2016 13:35

The least worst option?? Hillary!

If Trump doesn't believe what he says when he peddles racism and hate, why say it? It's all very well for you to feel free to ignore it, but it's less easy to do so when you're a minority whose rights are being attacked in public discourse, and when you're trying to cope in a society where hate speech is being legitimised because a main stream presidential candidate is drawing crowds of thousands to rallies. A society where a KKK leader feels supported enough to stand for Senate, for the first time in decades. When Trump is surrounded by supporters who mean Every. Single. Word. Easy to disbelieve that Trump doesn't really want to undermine the fundamental rights of women but is happy to pretend to.

Doesn't any of this distress or concern you? How can it not? How can you even begin to suggest that Trump and Clinton compare in levels of honesty, probity and decency?

Lweji · 05/08/2016 13:26

Ah, so Trump for you is the least worst option?

Why?

Based on her record, I do think Hillary has at least the willingness to address social issues and protect the weakest.
Based on his record, I do think Trump doesn't at all. He's been praying on the gullible to make money (see Trump University and other cases). He consistently says one thing and does another. The things he denounces, he's doing them himself. All the time.
From his record, can you see Trump acknowledge any responsibility over a similar even to Benghazi?

claig · 05/08/2016 13:20

'Surely the point of being anti-establishment is objecting to the lack of transparency in the elitist decision making?'

No, anti-establishment is opposing establishment policy, not the transparency of the policy. Trump opposes them.

'How is Trump NOT an elite? '

Because he exposes Establishment policy. Neing rich has nothing to do with being elite and influencing policy.

'It's him pretending to be something he's not that annoys me. '

If he was pretending, then Davos wouldn't be terrified of him.

'Yes but who? Do you have any names? I don't agree with you but I want to learn more about this.'

Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Mike Pence, Jeb Bush, John Kasich are Establishment. They back the most important establishment policies, Trump opposes those policies.

'So, how do you believe a person whose words can't be trusted?'

Do you trust what Hillary says on TPP or Benghazi or her emails? You have to decide which is the least worst option.

'Don't you feel like cognitive dissonance?'

No, because Trump is going to end globalism and end the control of the globalists and restore common sense, so any minor things he does are of little consequence compared to that.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 13:00

Also, with regards to the whole elite thing... How is Trump NOT an elite? He ticks every box!

It's him pretending to be something he's not that annoys me.

It's his hard on for nuclear weapons that give me panic attacks.

Lweji · 05/08/2016 12:55

Over the last few months, claig has consistently supported a bullshitting, lying, rude, ignorant man whose words nobody can trust because he doesn't mean what he says, but apparently we can believe the part where he's for the people (because he says so, and even though he's nothing like the people, and in fact more economic elite and establishment), and the part that he knows more and has more information than is public.

So, how do you believe a person whose words can't be trusted?

You might as well believe in Greek or Roman gods too.

Don't you feel like cognitive dissonance?
On one hand you say you believe what he says. On the other that you don't.
It's just wishful thinking on your part, isn't it?

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 12:52

The servants are the politicians who push through the globalist policies that the Establishment want to see implemented and which Trump is against. He was for Brexit, the Establishment was against it

Yes but who? Do you have any names? I don't agree with you but I want to learn more about this.

However if there are no names, it whiffs a tad of conspiracy theories/paranoia.

StorminaBcup · 05/08/2016 12:48

Trump doesn't mean half the stuff he says. People have to decide for themselves what they think he will do and what he won't.

Surely the point of being anti-establishment is objecting to the lack of transparency in the elitist decision making? By your very definition of Trump (opposing the elite), a clear policy should be the one thing he should have. People shouldn't be left guessing what he will or won't do.

claig · 05/08/2016 12:45

'So who are the servants? I don't mean other politicians who slam Trump; I mean the actual servants who work for these unknown elites.'

The servants are the politicians who push through the globalist policies that the Establishment want to see implemented and which Trump is against. He was for Brexit, the Establishment was against it.

claig · 05/08/2016 12:43

'Claig, could you respond to all the points put to you about the danger Trump poses to all those who are NOT the Elite but who he has repeatedly denigrated and abused?'

He poses no danger which is why Trump has a higher poll rating with white women and white men than Hillary does and he has a higher poll rating among Latinos and African-Americans and Muslim Americans than Romney or McCain had, but scores less well with those groups than Hillary because they are traditionally Democrat voters.

There is a relentless negative media campaign against Trump in order to drive his potential vote down, but he outperforms the polls that are reported.

Trump doesn't mean half the stuff he says. People have to decide for themselves what they think he will do and what he won't.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 12:32

I'm trying to follow, honestly. This is just foreign for me.

So who are the servants? I don't mean other politicians who slam Trump; I mean the actual servants who work for these unknown elites.

What are the servants jobs? What do they actually do?

BTW thank you for answering my questions and being patient with my ignorance. Much appreciated.

Threesoundslikealot · 05/08/2016 12:29

Claig, could you respond to all the points put to you about the danger Trump poses to all those who are NOT the Elite but who he has repeatedly denigrated and abused? And that's not the media spin, that is what Trump has actually SAID and DONE?

And why, if the answer is that it's all bullshit and he doesn't mean what he says, anyone can think that a single thing he says is worth listening to? This is the inherent contradiction in what you say that I just can't unpick.

claig · 05/08/2016 12:25

'Who, specifically, are these people?'

No one knows who they are, all we know is who their servants are, but big Republican donors etc drive Establishment policy.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 12:11

Bush was the most moderate in the field

That says a lot...

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 05/08/2016 12:11

Who is the Establishment? Can you give me names? Google just comes up with that anti-semetic Rothschild nonsense. Who, specifically, are these people?
