Donald Trump to stand for President. Conservatives celebrate, modernisers moan

Trump is standing for President. Progressives worldwide are panicking, modernisers on the moon as well as in our so-called conservative party are in meltdown.

This is a real conservative for a change. Will the elite allow this? He is not in their pocket, he is nobody's puppet. He didn't go to Oxbridge, he went to the school of hard knocks. He is richer than them, they can't control him. Is it game over for the elite? Will he make America great once again?

This is revolutionary. This is common sense. Trump even trumps Farage for straight talking common sense. The Harvard, Oxbridge automatons won't stand a chance against a people's politician like Trump.

The BBC and Bilderberg will need crisis meetings to try and stop the conservative common sense revolution sweeping the planet.

Modernisers in our "Conservative" party were reported as being in tears on hearing the news.

Ha ha ... it looks like the first skirmish within the Trump War goes to Scotland, however Trump owns a lot of hotels etc and the boycott on the brands he calls for, is clearly his, for as long as he has a hole in his bottom.

Whereas every boycotted brand bought by 'the people' means another Scottish brand loses out, so possibly a zero sum economic game.

Based on his record/clout, my money is still on him in the wind farm war.

Trump versus Salmond in Scotland, re a wind farm near Donald's new expensive golf club that he objects to, but Alex hinted was pre decided before the appeal - I'd fancy Trump's legal chances over several l-o-n-g holes there.

Jeb Bush has more chance for the Republican nomination than Trump.

The only thing Farage has in common with Donald is in the name; always blowing his own Trump-et.

It's not looking good for Trump. Fox News has just had pundits taking the mickey out of "The Donald".

I need to brush up on what the hell is going on. It seems my prediction of Trump's success in a Presidential run is somewhat over optimistic.

Bad news for real conservatives worldwide. Modernisers celebrating, the global warming game continues full steam ahead for now. Elite ecstatic. People disappointed.

I'll probably have to stay up for it and watch it live. The World Cup Final is missable, but "The Donald" live is another matter entirely.

Just tuned into Fox. Trump is all over the airwaves. Quotes abound, attacks on non-entities, third-rate senators and incompetents. Legendary stuff.

O'Reilly Factor is on at 1 am on Fox tonight. Has already been sky plussed as a matter of urgency. Unmissable. I'll be watching and you can bet the Bullingdon Club will be too. Only I'll be laughing and the Bullingdon Club will be weeping.

Modernisers in mourning, real conservatives doing the conga.

If Trump ever runs America, it will be the American Dream come true. One of the people made good through business and capitalism and without going to Oxbridge or Harvard or law school and serving the elite. Someone who made billions through business and work, someone larger than life and not afraid to laugh at the elite and tell them

This is the stuff of Hollywood movies, the American Dream. If anyone can make America great again, it is someone outside the servant class of bought and paid-for politicians. They don't come much better than straight-talking common sense Trump. He'll sort things out, he is a winner, a can-doer, he'll come out top trumps.

Yes, but "old money" are not real conservatives. They are not Thatcherites. Old money is Bullingdon, global warming believers, hug a hoody, Etonian progressives.

Donald Trump is "new money", he is everything "old money2 loks down on. He comes from the people and stands with the people. Harvard, Yale, Oxbridge and Bullingdon don't impress Trump. Trump gets things done.

No, he was spouing his venom about local people whose homes and small holdings he believed were blighting the views from his proposed golf course. Those you'd refer to as 'ordinary people'.

I'm pretty sure this NY crowd weren't 'modernisers', and they'd think 'Cameroon' was where their maid come. Old money.

If Trump is serious, if he is not deceiving the public and helping Clinton and the elite's progressives, then all bets are off. The people will flock to Trump and he will trounce the paid for politicians, the puppets, the "cntrolled fully" servants as he calls them, with all of their spin and spun patter.

I do like to have a laugh, so I do exaggerate, but I do like Trump. That doesn't mean I agree with everything he says or know about his sons or approve of them etc.

Was he referring to polticians and professional progressives when he said that? I want some can-do spirit, I want Trump to shake things up and sort things out and depose the donors, lobbyists and special interests and put the people first. He is so rich, they can't buy him. He is not for hire.

Are you sure they were real conservatives or modernisers and Cameroonians?

Political commentators are already laughing at Trump, they are saying that he will help Clinton, just as Perot helped Clinton.

The people hope not. They hope Trump is for real, the real deal, and that he will stand up for the people and not the elite. He may end up tricking the people, it's too early to say yet.

The political class are laughing at Trump, but could it be Trump and the people who have the last laugh?

Listen to how he speaks of the 'nonentities' who get in his way, and see the bully boy, threatening, strong arm tactics marshalled against anyone daring to question his plans. (Though he played Wee Ek's ego like a cheap fiddle - I'll give him that).

I know someone who attended a big NY charity do around the time he was spouting off that 'birther' tosh in 2012 - the whole crowd turned their back on him when he appeared - and it was pretty conservative crowd.

'People's champion' ! Trump is Faux News idiot fodder, he only registers with numb noodles whose brain cell is off on it's time share.
