I think it'll be bloody close UNLESS Labour up their game quite considerably. They need to actually start showing people what they stand for - they need to take back some initiative.

I think all main parties need to be seriously worried about UKIP. They scare the fuck out of me. UKIP will get votes on the basis that people are thinking LibDem = small bastards, Con = big bastards, Labour = previous bastards - so they might as well vote for that affable bloke they've seen on the telly. Farage is dangerous - he has that likeability that people go for, without understanding what he represents.

Take the 57 Scottish seats away , you have 593 seats left meaning to gain a Majority Government you need 297. The Conservative Party have 295 Seats in England alone. ttosca. Dotnet ....Labour's policy for 50% of children going to Uni was never funded and the review to give option was to report after the general election - so you never knew what they'd do to fund their own policy. Scotland get more funding from England per head than the English, so they have more options for 'nice' things.

If Labour's policies are sustainable, tell me the last time anti business Labour left power with UK unemployment LOWER than when they come in????

Labour making student fees a BIT less horrendous will be popular, though I don't see why we can't give our kids free higher education again, as the Scots do. The bloody coalition managed to make higher education for students in England the most expensive in the whole of Europe. AND in so doing, they've inculcated in our children the insane notion that personal debt is absolutely fine. What planet do they live on - no understanding of ordinary people's lives and concerns.
Labour will certainly get in next time.

As Labour through dodgy boundaries only need 35% of the vote to get a majority in parliament (so the Conservative would need a several point LEAD in the polls to get a small majority) it is unlikely the Conservatives form a government on their own.

The Tory scum won't have a majority ever again, because their ideology is from the Edwardian and Vicotrian era, and there simply aren't enough old, reactionary white men left to vote for them. They're a part of the past.

And if anyone thinks giving Labour another crack at doing further damage to our finances, resulting in more UK debt and LESS spending – that can only be partially solved with far more tax rises for all as was seen after they won the 1997 election they are mad.

An economy built on a fat Public Sector and welfare, without a Private Sector to support it and £1.5 trillion of national debt already mainly based on that ‘economic model’ – is the economics of a socialist mad house. Simple really, when you THINK about it.

Not so sure ttosca - look at the graphs: if the trend continues (Tory and UKIP moving up, Lab and moving down) then the result on today's snapshot will be badly wrong.

And until there's a proper Labour manifesto out, there's a big confounder: we need polls after they've set their stall out. And they are leaving it rather late now. Anyone know their planned timing?
