IF UKIP won a majority in the House of Commons and they put exit from the EU in their election manifesto the Salisbury Convention would apply. The Lords will not block anything that the public have voted on. IF UKIP won the UK would exit the EU.

They wouldn't need to win 326 seats given the number of Eurosceptic Tories, abstentions and Sinn Fein MPs.

UKIP have three Lords, BTW, not two.

I’d suggest THAT is the hand that the very polite Mr Cameron is offering you; vote Conservative to ensure an EU Referendum, rather than keep lying to your self and the voters that Ukip have it in their power to bring the Uk out of the EU.

I think there's an odd link in the mind of people where anti-immigration= right wing= Tory, whereas actually the way to look at it is anti-immigration= protectionist= left wing, at least economically. Immigration is a very capitalist construct- gives supply and demand free reign in impacting wages, housing, education etc. The people most impacted by that are the low waged- Labours typical supporters. Rich people benefit from immigration more than they suffer.

People forget that Old labour was in favour of exiting the EU, and that Blairism was something put up with rather than welcomed. Heath of course was a tory and thatcher campaigned to remain in the EU.

And so they should be, UKIP is the most favourably regarded party. Even those who disagree with us entirely tend to respect our motives.

UKIP is just ordinary people who have realised that if they don't do something to fix the country then no-one is going to do it for them. Eventually we will take back power from the subreptile political classes. We are a party of plebs, who want our representatives to be plebs and act in the pleb's interests.

Regarding the floods though it was EU, and by extension tory, ibdem and labour policy to allow the Somerset levels to flood....

In the second link the huge red and beige area is that where..

"Take action to INCREASE flood risks strategically"
"Continue with existing actions but accept increased flood risks over time"

Apparently the ever so green Mr Cameron prefers his molluscs and welks to the people who live in the local areas. The bird sanctuary wasn't an accident of expenditure, the whole area was deemed to be best left to wetlands to increase biodiversity... Probably so that London people who like birds and molluscs didn't have to travel too far...

And it worked. The environment agency have been following this policy under all three of the liblabcons, indeed they threatened to put a limpet mine on all of the pumping stations to make it happen.

Look don’t take my Ukip criticisms personally, if the Monster Looney Party enjoyed Ukip supporters attempts at political mistruths and had success due to it, and/or influenced the outcome of an election’s results like in 2010, I’d be equally mad at them as I find it both dishonest and destructive – especially if the Conservative’s THEN get blamed by Ukip’s minions for following more liberal policies.

I understand politicians and their party’s exaggerate their remedies for UK prosperity, but the 2010 election was crucial to the future of this country and therefore a time for ‘state of the State’ (and remedy) honesty to enlarge the policy debate, NOT stifle it, waiting for after the general election to implement policies.

So as we approach 2015 it concerns me that political spin doctors, with snake oil remedies, are currently influencing political debates and probably the 2015 outcome – and while it seems a game to them, I am worried for the sake of the county, of the outcome, including coalitions of any kind.

I may not agree with them, but I respect any political party’s polices, as that tells me what the party and the person stands for. So while you might call the tearing up a manifesto your party gained those votes on, (influencing a general an European elections in the process), as “honesty” – I could not disagree more with you on that, and it tells me a lot about the character of both the party and leader

Huge problems in this country, that Labour ideologically would NEVER have been allowed to fix so left them alone prior to 2010, ARE being fixed, and results are now starting to be seen and a £158 billion annual Labour overspend, is now £100 billion and still limiting spending options.

I know it don’t suit your mistruth peddling agenda, but as more and more results come through that the only other party that will form an administration in 2015 COULDN’T do – the more Ukip’s critical prattling looks both opportunist and stupid.

A lot of people are totally disillusioned with all parties. Lib dems - waste of time. Milliband a total pain in the neck. Cameron is better but would I vote for him possibly but probably not. I know we don't vote for PM's here but the leader of the party is so important. Labour get rid of Miliband or else they will lose the election but they won't because he will have to lose the election before they can get rid of him. So I'm told.

Claig…I know any politician taking responsibility by apologising for ANYTHING on their watch has been alien to the English electorate for many years now, but that is how it should be when politicians take responsibility.

But much of the point of forming all the hundreds of extra Quangos under Labour was to expensively devolve responsibility and think up PC and buzz word ideas were to make themselves look useful and worth 6-figure salaries/pensions at the top.

And rumour has it the coalition have both had to concentrate and have acted on far more pressing policies to ensure the whole UK didn’t get flushed down the Swanee River, whether we had unexpected 250-year high rainful or not.

I know ‘objective’ isn’t in your vocab, but spend a bit more time scanning the press for what HAS been achieved (much of it long overdue) rather than what wasn’t, especially acts of god – and you’ll save a lot of angry bunching of your shorts.
