Politics

I've just done a political 'what party to support' survey and I'm horrified!

I've only voted in 2 elections, Labour when I was 18 and Lib Dem at the last one, although I was heavily leaning towards Tory but was taken in by the Lib Dem student friendly lies!

The survey has come out as 80% UKIP. This is the last thing I would ever have expected being a Euro fanatic and relying on the EU for h2bs employment and living abroad! The other 20% was LibDem for my views on education. I though I could spot the UKIP policies a mile off but clearly I was very wrong...

So who do I bloody vote for?!

The survey was this one voteforpolicies.org.uk/ anyone else care to share results vs expectations?

Additional information: I have never been politically minded and its only now whilst I'm starting a new family that I've begun to take an interest and learn more about politics, so I am, I suppose, quite naive in the area. From a very Tory town on London commuter belt and family half strong Tory supporters with a little bit of labour thrown into the mix.

Lib Dems 33.33%
Labour 22.22%
BNP 22.22%
Green Party 11.11%
Conservatives 11.11%

LimburgseVlaai · 01/03/2013 12:19

Given that I'm a forrinner, I am very very shocked that I achieved a smidgen of BNP.... OMG!! The rest equal split between LibDems and Greens, which is what I expected.

But that BNP thing is scary. Was for education.

krazipan · 01/03/2013 12:17

50% Labour
50% Green

I'm quite happy with this, I think it represents my views quite well!

I thought the ukip and bnp policies stood out a mile too.

NoisesOff · 01/03/2013 12:11

71% Labour
14% Lib Dem
14% Green

I'm happy with that. I voted Lib Dem last time but have definitely defected to Labour since.

The UKIP and BNP policies stood out a mile.

HecateWhoopass · 01/03/2013 12:11

wow. erm.

UKIP 33.33%
Labour 22.22%
Green Party 22.22%
Conservatives 11.11%
Lib Dems 11.11%

Crime ? Labour
Democracy ? Green Party
Economy ? Conservatives
Education ? Green Party
Environment ? Lib Dems
Europe ? UKIP
Health / NHS ? UKIP
Immigration ? Labour
Welfare ? UKIP

I did NOT expect that.

I feel a bit weird. Like I'm not who I thought I was! Grin

ShepherdsSpy · 01/03/2013 12:09

I was 25 per cent Tory, Labour, Lib Dem and green!

Andcake · 01/03/2013 12:03

Has this survey been updated since the last general election or is it using those manifestos. I'd love to be able to compare pre and post the coalition!

MrsJohnDeere · 01/03/2013 12:02

Yikes

25% Conservatives
25% UKIP
25%BNP Blush
25% Labour

HormonalHousewife · 01/03/2013 11:58

Shock at you jibber

and its quite ironic that the BNP would probably not let you in the UK as you are a ''forriner'' despite whole heartedly agreeing with their policies Wink

PootlePosyPerkin · 01/03/2013 11:58

Well, I've just done it again including ALL categories & reading all of the expanded points.

Let's just say it came out worse Shock.

HecateWhoopass · 01/03/2013 11:58

I expect to be very very VERY left Grin

Am off to do the survey now.

ArbitraryUsername · 01/03/2013 11:57

It's because both the bnp and ukip write their policies as if they were utterly reasonable and not at all racist/xenophobic. That said, I chose Green Party immigration policy and such like which is more 'yay, foreign people' than anything else.

Jibberoo · 01/03/2013 11:55

btw i cant vote in UK elections (thank god given my scores!)

Jibberoo · 01/03/2013 11:54

i am so shocked i cant believe it. I got 40% BNP (holy shit) and 40% UKIP with 20% Lib Dems. If you knew who I was getting even 1% in BNP would be a shock.
Personally i blame it on the wooly writing of policy by the main parties. I definitely chose policies that were more concrete in their targets (even if they probably couldnt achieve them).
oh god look at me trying to justify my extreme views
think i'll slink off and hide now

HormonalHousewife · 01/03/2013 11:52

25% BNP Shock Shock

I'll put this down to the fact that I am watching millionaire matchmaker so easily distracted !

ArbitraryUsername · 01/03/2013 11:47

I'm clearly a wishy washy do-gooder type. 85% green, the remainder labour.

I agree the welfare policies are all terrible.

UseHerName · 01/03/2013 11:46

Pootle mine was similar

25 UKIP Shock
25 Conservatives
25 Labour
25 Green

I've never voted as I think it's all corrupt - and I'm the least environmentally friendly person ever

winemakesmeclever · 01/03/2013 11:45

60% labour (am ok with that) 20% lib dem (ok...) 20% BNP??????????? Am now going into the garden to thrash myself with twigs Shock

PootlePosyPerkin · 01/03/2013 11:39

25% BNP Shock
25% Labour
25% Green
25% UKIP

Quite surprised as I voted Lib Dem last time!

UseHerName · 01/03/2013 11:30

ah...Pilfette - I selected four categories and did not select 'show more policies' - obviously this has a bearing on results.

might do it again, seeing as i've nothing better to do Grin

Pilfette · 01/03/2013 11:27

I did all categories and selected the show more policies every time as there were some quite Shock gotchas in them.

UseHerName · 01/03/2013 11:27

I got an equal 25% for each! What does that mean!? How would I describe that political opinion?
