Sorry, not read much of this, but laughing at 'Greece is new to democracy'. Gosh, times have changed considering Grecce invented democracy in 400-odd bc:) I know this is not relevant to the discussion and will be back later to read fully.

Minim, with the new world order stuff, the problem is that you go from wondering what that is all about and the builderburger stuff, and now the Rome stuff, and then people go and talk about lizzards Hmm.

Greece is in desperate do do. I agree with Tillyminto, a weak rabble with little experience and less agreement with spell disaster. Greece is new to democracy and there are too many conflicting interests and too many parties.

Thinking about what claig has said up thread and the threat of a super state, I remember wondering why Brown, Blair and mandelson, clinton and much of his administration (rumsfied?)would insert the words "new world order" into almost every speech. What is meant by this? do they all refer to some common ideology and is this a phrase or a term also heard in Germany? and other countries in the EU?

Greece is overspending by 10% per year. For the Greek people to say they 'dont want auserity' is just denial. Who is going to fund this gap?

NB one of the parties that got 7% of the vote is much further right than the BNP.

And a weak coelection, of inexperienced politicians with differing agendas is going to be terrible for Greece. They won't even be able to agree on what to offer Merkel in return for the money they want. How's that going to work?

Who is "scapegoating" the vulnerable? Cuts have to be made, that doesn't mean the people affected by the cuts are the ones to blame for the cuts having to be made.

The club of Rome, I had a bit of a google on that, they brought out a book saying that to bring people together, they need a common enemy Osama bin Laden!

I saw on the news that he leading party in Greece (my apologies, name eludes me) has failed to form a coalition.

The prospect of a second general election edges nearer.

Yes, that is not surprising because most bigwigs would attend meetings of the powerful like that. I guess the Bilderbergers want to get to know people.

Queen Beatrix of Netherlands is a member claig, just as she is a member of the Rome group.

They also want people to ask for it, and to use scare tactics of an unseen enemy terrorists, when they needed Ireland they didn't want the IRA so they used Alqieda (sp?) instead as the bogey man!

Yeah I saw this in the Mail two days ago, but didn't take much notice. It mentioned superstate.

This is from teh Mandelson article and it uses the word "re-engage" which is what Blair says he wants to do, and Mandelson was Blair's spin meister. Maybe "ree-ngage" is the new spin buzzword?

'Mandelson is one of a group of Labour politicians who believe the expected election of François Hollande is a chance for Labour to re-engage with Europe.'

Jean Monet, father of the EU, had a vision of Europe's future in 1952, and he said that Europe's nations should be guided towards the superstate without people understanding what is happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will eventually and irreversibly lead to federation.

I noticed they were delaying counting the London Mayor votes, I was surprised no one was making a fuss about it, like it was ok to leave the votes sitting around.

Yes Smile. And there are mayors all over France, so maybe it is common on EU countries. Has Germany got mayors?
