Fed up of the cuts? Fed up of the mislead bigotry? This is your sanctuary. Unwind. Vent. Pop over to the frothers thread if you feel like getting organised and doing some proactive stuff or just chill out with a cup of builders tea in a polystyrene cup.

Welcome.

yes where I live is a renowned unemployment blackspot, and the much vaunted evening supermarket jobs haven't had any vacancies for several years....

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 17:43

I did post something along the lines of "if you can't get people to agree with you on the thread then you need a better arguement, not a new thread" or similar.

I may start an "AIBU to be thick as mince?" thread

So many more new people coming in to claim, people who have never been near us before, upset, shocked often traumatised. Our live register is twice what it was 2 years ago and is rising even more.

Then there are the poor souls who have been kicked moved off IB and ESA having to jump on board the JSA rules. They can't do it staraightaway bur rules is rules....

There are hardly any jobs unless betterware or avon are your thing. I work in an area that has no industry as such, ex mining community. People are trying so hard to find ANY work, anything at all.

Meanwhile those that are most disadvantaged move further and further away from getting a job as they are having to compete with those who have recently been made redundant and still have things like internet access, transport, etc.

Then I come on here.........

Sad
Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:42

Oh Katie pore them and pore you xx

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 17:41

Oh and I have started reporting all those thick as mince threads as being "thread about a thread" in the hope that MNHQ will DO SOMETHING.

But I have to go and tell someone they are redundant in a minute and I am feeling a bit sick about it Sad

yy Orm's a good egg.

And tethers was there.

Peachy · 26/01/2012 17:36

Porm?

Orm. As in Ormirian.

or maybe Porn.

Porn for people who fancy idiots.

Or sumfink. (I typed sumKink there; need wine!)

TheLightPassenger · 26/01/2012 17:36

it must be grim Katie, I imagine that it's the usual story these days of more and more work and less and less staff, and that's before you read the stuff on here.

Peachy · 26/01/2012 17:35

At least you have POrm on the comunist thread Hully. I like Orm; she used to help out sometimes when I was a Guider, her dd was one of my girls.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:34

yy shirl. We'll put it on all of them.

Oh fuck it. Let's start a thread.

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 17:34

I am so tired and stressed.

In 27 years I have never been so busy. And despite being a public sector worker, I am usually very busy indeed.

My customers are decent, honest people and deserve to be treated fairly and with respect. A bit of hope wouldn't go amiss either.

And then I come on here and read the hatespew and wonder about the state of humanity. It actually makes me feel ill.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:33

I shouldn't have done it.

TheLightPassenger · 26/01/2012 17:32

I can't bear to open the Commie thread. One grim thread a day (reality check thread) is enough.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 26/01/2012 17:30

I'd like the 2.685m unemployed, 463,000 vacancies to be posted on every thread where someone says "blah blah no reason not to work blah blah"

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:30

oh dear I'm getting all angry again.

That commie thread.

You wouldn't think people could be so thick and still be alive.

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 17:27

I work in the Jobcentre

It's an anti-lecture on the irony of the philosophy of Dave.

TheLightPassenger · 26/01/2012 17:20

pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

need to let off steam. know too many people struggling to find work or whose jobs are insecure (including me and DH!) to feel like taking lectures from the MN oligarchs.

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 17:01

No problem. I'll print up the flyers, put a few round my workplace, my customers would just love it.

Peachy · 26/01/2012 16:34

I think you are kind assuming jealousy, i think it's more a realisation teh economy is contracting resulting in a 'pull up the ladders' attitude- as long as my kids are safe, stuff the rest

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 16:06

Lovely. We'll stage in your living room and advertise it as a "fringe" event Katie Grin
