Fed up of the cuts? Fed up of the mislead bigotry? This is your sanctuary. Unwind. Vent. Pop over to the frothers thread if you feel like getting organised and doing some proactive stuff or just chill out with a cup of builders tea in a polystyrene cup.

Welcome.

It's got Gandhi in it even.

Love and peace as resistance. And flowers.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 24/01/2012 16:34

love love bollywood films. the drama, the costumes, the storylines and then everyone dances!!!

Hullygully · 24/01/2012 16:31

oh oh oh

I have got the best film EVER.

Will have to look up name, tis Indian and has singing and dancing a la Bollywood but is EXTREMELY good. I saw it on a plane to India and laughed and wept hysterically and dh ordered it on dvd all secret for me.

Lago Rahe Munna Bhai

I am going to say nothing except watch it. It is a film of such magnificence and extremely pertinent to us too. And very funny.

You will love it. I promise.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 24/01/2012 16:30

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 16:29

You could play "stroke or botox" if it gets a bit dull?

What were you on Shirl?

well there was that brief shot of me on crimewatch....

TeWihara · 24/01/2012 16:28

I doubt it will be boring, they have to do the whole thing fairly quickly or all the slebs will get drunk and rowdy.

TheLightPassenger · 24/01/2012 16:28

Shirl you have to keep your eyes open for celeb gossip. Or just make some up anyway, throw tantalising hints and ignore all requests for PMs.

as for the political stuff - Angry via Hmm to BiscuitBiscuit

Peachy · 24/01/2012 16:27

TYou could do a Jarvis Cocker if anyone inappropriate wins?

DS3's middle name is Jarvis, for absolutely that reason.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 24/01/2012 16:27

I'm famous on Mumsnet, Mary. That's enough for me. HA!

I think I sit like at the cinema, only instead of watching a film I get to watch a load of people getting awards - only I'll be so far away they will look like little ants.

Ant Awards!

I hope Lucy Ant wins for best legs in a comedy and John Ant wins for his brilliant portrayal of an ant in Life On Earth

Peachy · 24/01/2012 16:27

(Although I did drop the Bollywood module from my degree due to A) it being useless in anything I wanted to do and B) if you shoved me in front of a TV showing anything at 9am on a Monday morning I will sleep, guaranteed! Did a self led module on the cult of the Boddhisattva instead. So much mroe useful.......

ValarMorghulis · 24/01/2012 16:26

I do hope you are going to wear a glitzy dress and get in the way of all the "paps" Shirley.
Swan around like you are important and they are bound to believe it.

TeWihara · 24/01/2012 16:26

Oh bugger! I even looked that up! And got excited because I used to want to do tech in TV production.

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 16:26

Well judging by the woman I saw on the tube the year before last who was obviously very much "morning after the night before" at 2.30pm in the afternoon I think you'll have a great time.

I think she said National TV awards but may have been BAFTAs or something else. She was talking loudly on her phone about wherever it was but I couldn't really hear because I loudly tutting at the state of her smeared mascara, shoes in handbag, wonky hair do and crumpled dress and being oh so very jealous!
