Okay - I know it's not the campaigning thread, but these are the instructions for tomorrow if you want to try and fight to get all these amendments actually made part of the bill instead of IDS pushing the damn thing through without any of the tiny bit sof protection the House of Lords managed to negotiate.

Personally I'm hoping everyone is visited by the ghost of economies past, present and future tonight and has a change of heart and kicks the whole damn thing out...

Garlicfrother When Labour were bringing the private sector into the NHS (makes me want to cry but I'm not sure I can ever trust them again) you couldn't get a story about it in the papers for love or money. It was the whole TINA thing. I think it says a lot when those that are quite well off can see how wrong and twisted the cuts are, gives me a bit of hope!

I went out with some really quite rich friends at the weekend (well, they took me out, bless them.) They are outraged by the wrongness of the cuts. They totally get the point.

I wish there were some way to break down the media 'blackout' and let everyone see how widespread this revulsion is.

Visited new hospital last week named after Aneurin Bevan. It's built on the site of the old steel works in Ebbw Vale, and they have lots of memorabilia on show. Blaenau Gwent is so incredibly impoverished,I dread to think what it will be like for some families when the benefit cuts are made .it will be like going back to the 1930s .

Managed to spill an entire cup of water all over my cooker yesterday when I had a seizure, and I dropped the laptop on my toe today when I had one. Toe bloody ouchy, but lappy fine, thank god! First thing the two older dc asked, at separate times, when told I'd dropped the lappy on my toe, was after the laptop, NOT my toe. . I know DS1 was joking, but DD wasn't. .

I suppose there would only have cheering if she actually died in the movie.....

This is a great thread, normally don't post on MN about politics, as there are so many Tory bastards on here it makes me inarticulate with rage.
Thought Hullys thread really funny. Nice to be amongst like minded people.

I live in South Wales and work in the Valleys. Whole area decimated by the politics of Thatcher,we are still living with the effects 30 years later.
Poverty, low income jobs, high unemployment and high incidence of substance misuse.
Driving through a particularly impoverished area a few weeks ago,I was listening to Thatchers biographer being interviewed. He said that history would look at her in a kinder light even though she was a controversial figure.

I was so angry, there I was driving through her fucking. History! That is still a day to day reality for thousands of people. Shooting would be too good for her!!
And now Cameron et al,not content on destroying the feckless poor, want to destroy the sick and disabled too.
Why we don't have a Revolution I'll never know.
