This is the 3rd thread in a series.

It is for people who are horrified, frustrated and downright sad at the erosion of human rights with respect to how this country is being run, just now and in the recent past

it is apolitical in nature, but of course due to many recent initiatives by the recent govt, there will be rants against our current "leaders"

please join in

I shall post the link to the old threads, our "Too Many Cuts #Frothers" blog that is attracting a lot of widespread attention and a little bit of what we are about in a moment

Shit fuck and bollocks they're going to write off existing arrears

Read paragraph 70. Cunting bastards. They are going to either leave the arrears sitting there and refuse to chase them, or write them off. I hope no-one here has arrears owing to them for maintenance...

carernotasaint · 08/12/2011 23:37

Im frothing at Question Time. They are discussing whether or not there is any compassion for the unemployed.
The chief exec of Next has just said that the biggest fiddle is disability benefits. He hasnt even looked at the figures. Its something like 0.5% One young girl in the audience said that the problem with being young is that you have no experience and that she cant get experience without getting a job. she obviously hasnt made the hideous discovery of workfare yet.
After the comments from Next it would be really interesting to find out if they have ever used workfare.
BOYCOTT NEXT.
I am MAJORLY FROTHING........FUCKING BASTARD

Hunty, Tianc I've just had a flick through the latest version of the Bill. It's hard to read it on my phone, but from what I can see, there aren't specific provisions about maintenance. What there is, is the power to make regulations (ie to decide later) what counts as income which will be deducted pound for pound from UC, and what will be disregarded.

During the debates, the Govt will have made a statement about this, or a commitment as to what it will say in the regulations. If not, there might be more amendments. The most recent briefing from groups like Gingerbread (ie, the Briefing for Lords Report stage) should give you the latest.

Tianc - I want to find out about this discrepancy too, especially as it will direly affect me personally, as I have 3 ex-partners that pay through the CSA currently, I will have to pay the charges three times - and that INCLUDES the percentage charges - so if I'm going to be losing out on the charges three times, if they will be taking the maintenance AND the charges out of the UC - then I will just cancel BOTH my claims. It's just not worth it when I get £12.50/wk from DD's father, £1.36 from DS1's dad, and £55/wk for two dc from Ex-P. So I get the sum total of £68.86/wk maintenance for all 4 of my dc. Not worth losing even MORE than that if this is true - so I'll just go without the money!!

ShirleyKnot · 08/12/2011 23:05

Managed to snag a really cool twitterer @hangbitch tonight. She's fabulous and if you're not following her, you should be - anyway she's now following me and has thanked me for the link. She's pretty small potatoes really but has a good 4.5K following

WHOOP WHOOP!

CardyMow · 08/12/2011 23:00

It only took me a second to sign up, TheMouse. I used my HuntyCat email, not my personal one.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 08/12/2011 22:59

Now it works ShockConfused, I just have to log in!

CardyMow · 08/12/2011 22:59

Made them public now.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 08/12/2011 22:58

Do you have to be in that keepandshare? I tried putting in huntycat.keepandshare.com and it didn't work Confused

CardyMow · 08/12/2011 22:56

huntycat.keepandshare.com

KateFrothers · 08/12/2011 22:54

Hunty you need to post the links. We can't access your account. Make sure you click the thing on the left to make them public.

Tianc · 08/12/2011 22:52

Uff, so slow I'm x-posting. I'll go catch up.

Tianc · 08/12/2011 22:52

Will PM you an email, Hunty.

Only do this if you want to, but I'm happy to try to run this discrepancy to earth, especially if Lubey needs to know whether to include it in her campaigning.

ShirleyKnot · 08/12/2011 22:51

Mouse - It's Friday tomorrow - it's ALWAYS Charlie and Susannah on a Friday. It's Bill and Sian day off.

Whatever will we do when they move to Salford and the lovely Siany leaves? Sad

I do like Susannah now though, she was quite harsh and unlikeable......for a little while......but I really like her......

KateFrothers · 08/12/2011 22:50

I don't think Cameron's even invited on that little road trip never mind in the boot.

CardyMow · 08/12/2011 22:49

Well, THAT was quicker than I thought - they're on there now.

Pg 24 on the IFS one, and just read the CAB one.

Smile
CardyMow · 08/12/2011 22:47

I seem to be uploading the files on Keep and share dot com, will post again when they are done. It may take an eternity though, as my net isn't broadband, I use a dongle. I am on as Huntycat, and the files are called 'IFS Universal Credit Document', and 'CAB Universal Credit paper'.

KateFrothers · 08/12/2011 22:47

Yup you can email them to me. Do you have my address? If not pm me. I'm on phone but once the boy is asleep I can get on laptop and upload.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 08/12/2011 22:46

Hunty, I was given Frothers email earlier, and have pm'd it to you!

Hello Shirley, how do you know it is going to be Susannah, I have never any idea who is on what days?

I have question time on at the moment, they are going on about the Euro! Someone described, German PM driving a car, France PM reading the map, Camron in the boot bound and gagged! Now they said how can you trust somone who stabs their own brother in the back! Grin

ShirleyKnot · 08/12/2011 22:43

Hello mousie sweetheart! You're right tomorrow Charlie and Susannah will be all "Oh my GAWD!! Have you seen about the Euro crisis and that?"

CardyMow · 08/12/2011 22:40

IFS Report - I will try to do that Keep and share thingy - I have the IFS report saved as a PDF file (as well as the CAB one). Can't find the right bit on Gingerbread, think I need more sleep. Blush. If I can't work out this keep and share thing - can I email the PDF's to you (just PM me email addy). I think I emailed them to Lubey earlier, I can manage that. Grin

It's pg 24 in the IFS doc, and the CAB doc talks about it, as well as being very interesting anyway.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 08/12/2011 22:39

It will all be about the Euro and the storms on BBC breakfast tomorrow!

ShirleyKnot · 08/12/2011 22:34

at Tianic.

The stuff they're trying to push through is shit enough to cause frothing TBH - this added "bonus" is just Shock

Tianc · 08/12/2011 22:27

Can't find it mentioned in any IFS report. The only likely report I can find is ""Child and working-age poverty from 2010 to 2020", Oct 2011. This only mentions child maintenance as an assumption in calculating household incomes.

Of course it would be very good news if there were no imminent threat to deduct maintenance pound for pound from UC.

God knows the planned charges are more than enough to create a disaster...
