No I wasn't, to be perfectly honest

Aberdeen is oil money, the city contributes around 10% GDP i think

I am totally in favour of cuts, they don't go nearly far enough, but I shall go and spectate.

Those of you taking DCs please be careful in case it gets out of hand like student demos

I've just picked up my DS from uni in central London and saw lots of mobs mustering. The met were on to the. With lots of filming.

I don't agree with the sentiment of the march as I think cuts have to be made but I agree absolutely with the right to protest.

Oh yes they would Minnerva. For the hell of it. As they're quite perverse and enjoy hurting the poor and vulnerable.

Total respect to those who are going and thats from a police officer. Most cops that I know support demonstrations as long as they are peaceful. It is the small minority who go to cause trouble who we have a problem with. Good experience for those with children too. Police officers can't affiliate to any political party which may be why not many are marching on this demo but I know that our federation (union) is planning a protest march soon.

As a foster carer myself,who is married to a Jewish (!) teacher we will personally be affected by cuts but tbh it has to be done.This country doesn't have any money-we have spent it all and cuts have to made across the board.I know it's hard and horrible and unfair in places but what else can we do?

If we keep spending without taking proper hold of the purse strings it will be a lot worse in the long run.Painful and almost unbearable I agree but without a viable option there is no choice.Nobody-not even The Torys would do this for no reason.

So I won't be going but I respect the opinions of those that do and hope the weather stays nice.

I have lots of friends who are going on the march, but I'm not. tbh I agree that cuts have to be made, but I don't agree with where they are being made in many cases. So wouldn't feel comfortable going on a march against the cuts.

God I'd love to go for a laugh.
It will be full of eanest sorts all convinced that their jobs offering outreach services to vulnerable rabbits are vital and that the world will crumble without them offering endless workshops and awareness training.

Hope they all get kettled and shunted into the Thames.

Yep, lots of layers - fleece not cotton to dry quick in case of getting wet, lots of food and water, and at least twice as much chocolate as you think you might possibly need.

Hi after discussion with DH who was going to stay at home with the DDs, we are going to attend as a family. We will be with Croydon NUT (DH will be waving at the members of UCU) but we may hang back and join the buggy block if it gets really busy... which it will!

Weather forecast for London for tomorrow is cloudy, max 13* C.

I thought I saw something on a news report which suggested the awkward squad would be trying to invade shops along Oxford Street. If that's a well known serious plan, it might be an area to avoid. Trafalgar Square is also set to be very crowded - might be an area to miss if you have children with you.

Expectation is that buses will be very disrupted; be prepared to walk. A-Z for finding Tube stations or just navigating if your planned route gets blocked seems very sensible.
