Burning Skin? Nausea? Headaches? PROTESTORS BEWARE

I have also worked with many many people who believed the government were sending electrical waves etc into their brains, all joking aside, many many of them did indeed use metal and tinfoil to protect themselves.

The people affected were many different ages, backgrounds, inoffensive people who had never protested anything or had any involvement in anything which could cause then to be targeted.

The only thing they had in common with each other was mental illness.

OP you really need to speak to a health professional regarding your issues.

I see helicopters. Real ones. All the time. They fly really low over my house because I live near an airfield.

The seeing helicopters thing is a very common complaint from people who really need psychiatric assessment.

Anyway. Let's suppose this is true. OP, surely you can contact one of the many organisations who would love to prove you right; you can go for a private medical check to have your symptoms analysed and confirmed and you can have testing equipment placed in or around your house or about your person to show unusual levels of interference. You seem like a pro-active kind of girl. Surely you can contact the necessary people to make this happen, then go to the left-wing media with it? Why aren't you?

Well I don't doubt that our, or any other respectable government is capable of covert methods of control, or information gathering where national security is concerned, I'm just not sure that the OP campaigning for more wheelchair ramps outside M&S in Slough or wherever, would be terribly high on their agenda. She's hardly Jason Bourne now is she?

peacelovingmother I for one believe you. There is a reason why there is so much intent on knowing the identities of normal everyday protesters as well as (I don't know if this is a good term) "career activists", the info is being gathered to deal with these people when the government sees fit and how they see fit.

Unfortunately in England there is a lack of belief that a government could do such things as it is considered a "respctable" government globally, unlike Libya for instance where people are gunned down in the street.

What people need to realise is that it is exactly these types of "respectable" governments that would utilise these covert methods of control to avoid tarnishing their image and can excercise such practices as the general population will be disbelieving.

It is not that far fetched when you look at what governments worldwide are capable of. The mass extermination of jews and gypsies in Germany and other parts of Europe went on for an extended period of time without the rest of the world knowing. If that can happen then so can this. Look how much stuff has been exposed through Wikileaks that no one knew about!

MotherNature - I see a lot of labelling on Mumsnet (and other forums) of people with strange ideas as being mentally ill - which, IMO, undermines the issues surrounding those who are mentally ill. Of course the OP may be suffering from psychosis, in which case I hope she has someone close to her that can refer her to the right places. However, she may not be either.

You're right I'm probably projecting. The very similar beliefs I held at that time were paralysing, I didn't go out, I suspected everyone. I guess I just want to help someone who is in the position I was.

I wouldn't discount what she says though she may well be right.

The reason police forces want unmanned surveillance drones is that they remove precisely the restriction that Baroque pointed out - that manned helicopters cost serious money so you only use them when you have something serious going on.

Once the price of surveillance drops there will no longer be so much "push-back" from the cost, and the surveillance can be done speculatively. Essentially, fishing.

There is no evidence of this for the OP - just (the 2nd) strange believes on electronic whatsits in the space of a few days.

Lots of people believe things which negatively impact on their lives, and others around them it doesn't automatically mean that they're mentally ill.

I told a CPN what I described above and was labelled mentally ill on the spot.
However you are right, if this wasn't impacting on the OPs life or her families life and was just a strange belief then yes. It doesn't sound that way though does it.
I did a lot of research on all this whilst ill, I don't really want to go back into it as I've had to shut that point in my life out, I never came to terms with that particular belief. They do have the capabilities.

She's either right or this belief is wrong and is negatively impacting her life, neither option is that good.

Not to comment on the OP, but people saying What-helicopters-har-har obviously don't know about these, with six police forces currently planning them.

I don't think anyone is finding pyschosis "hilarious" - believe me I would be the last person to think that it's hilarious after what happened to me.

However, there are people that genuinely believe this stuff without having any form of MH issues.

I don't like this idea that we go around labelling anyone with whacky ideas as being mentally ill - so I'd rather err of the side of them being well unless they show other odd symptoms.

I did lots of research on microwaves that the US armed forces had invested heavily in. I was hearing voices, I thought the voices were put there through these waves, using helicopters. I also used to do a lot of demonstrating.

I want to get one of these amazing meters that can accurately measure signal strength from 16Hz up to the Gigahertz (microwave) range and all in something small enough to be held in the hand. All the signal measurement equipment I've ever worked with tends to be limited in frequency range.

And my antenna theory is very rusty but wouldn't a 16Hz signal need an antenna literally miles long to pick it up? How big is this ELF meter?
