I noticed the meter seemed to bleep faster wqhen she moved it closer to her and her DD's heads though I have no idea what this means.

Or just go to the doctor immediately and tell him all this. Show him the videos to make him take you seriously. Show him the one of the plane as well. Please.

Why don't leave your DD there for a bit, with a second monitor, you relatives can monitor her health and her readings, as well as their own, and you can measure yours at your home separately. then compare them.

I know that the UK does have questionable safe limits for various things which is why I was looking at the World Health Organisation recommendations rather than UK standards.

Does your meter's instructions say why it considers anything over 200nT is dangerous and under 20 as ideal? Eg, studies that have been performed or country-specific health bodies that say that's the safe limit? Or, indeed, any reasoning behind the limits it suggest at all?

The reason I ask is that 20nT is an incredibly tiny magnetic field. It's less than a thousandth of the earth's own magnetic field. I think you really would have to unplug pretty much everything in your house to get close to that level and that's before you can even start considering involvement by external malevolent forces.

Have you tried turning off everything in your house and doing a measurement then?

1000nT is 1µT which is one hundredth of the WHO safe level. It's also one thirtieth of the strength of the magnetic field you walk around in every day courtesy of the Earth. I have yet to see any study that suggests magnetic flux levels that low pose any hazard to health.

I can't help with the iPod/iTunes thing though I'm afraid. I don't have an iPod and I took iTunes off my PC in disgust at how shoddy and unstable it was. Niceguy2's yer man for that kind of malarky.

Ah, misread your earlier message. So even a reading of 1000 would come into safe levels.

OP - could there be any other physical reasons for the symptoms you are experiencing. Do all your family have these symptoms?

According to the WHO at least, 300nT poses no health risk whatsoever. The reading would have to be hundreds of times stronger than that before the WHO believes there could be a risk.

If you were standing in the middle of a field, far away from any electrical power lines and without any electronic devices on your person then, yes, a 300nT reading would be unusually high.

If you were standing in a typical UK house that has typical mains-powered devices in it - fridge, freezer, TV, PC, VCR, Sky+ box, clock radio, central heating system, mobile phone charger etc etc etc - then a few hundred nT of magnetic flux seems entirely reasonable.

Don't forget that many TVs and computers still have their power supplies turned on (and so generating flux), even when it looks like the thing's turned off, unless you actually turn them off at the wall socket. Same for the small mains-powered chargers for phones etc. Your VCR and microwave oven will be generating small amounts of flux even if all they're doing is showing the time of day.

I think what Snorbs is saying is that a measurement of 300nT is dangerous, but there could be a good reason for it such as an iron for example.

What the OP is saying is that readings go up to 1000, and affect her at night.

So to get true readings, measurements would have to be taken in the house when everything electrical was turned off.

Plus, this isn't the microwave stuff that is being talked on about the FB groups because the meter doesn't measure microwaves.

For reference, the Earth's magnetic field is around 30µT. Or, 100 times greater than the 300nT field measured by peacelovingmother's meter.

One other thing peacelovingmother - your meter doesn't measure microwave energy. Microwaves are at a frequency at least a million times higher than your meter can detect.
