But georgeorwell, that is that attitude of so many of the public school educated Oxbridge Guardian journalists. They look down on the working classes, as complimentary showed. They think they know what is best for the working classes, and they are the ones who think that aspiration is "bollox", as they sit in their cushy jobs pontificating on the working classes, after having been educated at Oxbridge.

It is those parvenus and arrivistes who think the working class is thick and "duped". Have they ever been in a working class pub and listened to ordinary people? If they had, then they wouldn't look down their noses at the working class. It was teh working class that voted Thatcher in, because they longed for and aspired for the hope that she offered. It is good working class lifelong Labour supporters like Mrs. Duffy who are called bigots by the professional intelligentsia of the Labour Party. It is Prescott who says "we are all middle class now". They don't care about teh working class, they just use them and dupe them. It is the working class who buy the Sun and many also buy the Daily Mail. That's what angers the Oxbridge educated arrivistes on the Guardian, they fear that they won't be able to fool the working class any longer.

Since when can you say opinion is "the truth"? All newspapers spout their own opinions, picking and choosing the facts that support their opinions and ignoring the inconvenient details that get in the way of a good, provocative story.

Inability to understand the words in the Gaurdian?. I don't need to understand the terminology in this old rag.
All I need to know is that it calls itself the most 'Liberal paper in the world'. Most if not all Guardian readers live in affluent areas Primrose Hill, Muswell Hill etc; they look down their snouts at those "awful working class people in council estates, who are racist, thick and ignorant". Whilst supping cappucinos at the local cafe/starbucks. They sneer at the working classes for being worried about mass immigration whilst ensconcing themsleves in white middle class areas. Cameron a 'Liberal Conservative' (according to him) bypassed 15 schools near downing street, so that he could get his daughter into a oversubscribed state schooL. His nearest school the first language of the children was Arabic. Georgeorwell I have nothing against individual people who read the Guardian, but the paper stinks of hypocrisy and so do a lot of the readers! Including Cameron!

what's all this guardian hate about? i don't read it except online occasionally but i often suspect the antipathy towards it is motivated by envy at its erudite, pithy pitch (charlie brooker par example) and an inability to understand all the words.

georgeorwell. I read all the good papers the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Times, and the Sun (my husband likes the boobs on page 3). The only paper I don't buy is a filthy North London rag called the Guardian, I don't like papers that sneer at the working classes, that are pretentious, cowardly, some of those people who buy it are Libtards who think they are better then the general population.

No, my local newsagent sells at least 5 copies of the Guardian daily! I suppose that's about right with it's daily circulation of 285.000.
The Mail has a circulation of 2.4 million and half the readers are women, so yes, it's my preferred paper, with others.
My favourite magazine is 'Nuts'. Even if it's aimed at men! It's so sexist it's a right laugh isn't it!
