How to be avoid being kettled next time you protest - thank goodness for technology

Maybe that was in response to the students trusting Clegg & Co to keep their word and found that trust to be badly misplaced.

One would point out that no plod has died as the result of demonstrators actions shame the opposite cannot be said

why it it a victory, why does it take so much technology to.....disperse?

so all the police have to do is talk about kettling on their radios and the crowd disperses

What a great use of a university education! Good for them!

Wonderful on so many levels. For example, if the police had learnt more from their IT classes, they would have been able to pre-empt/combat this. Ironic, too, that they are kettling students who are simply protesting for the right to receive the education that shows them how to do this sort of thing.

Love it!

However, it won't be long before the police have infiltrated Sukey and are feeding in the wrong information to mislead people. Hope the students remain one step ahead.

that's interesting - incidentally does anyone think taht the march on 26 March will end with kettling - its slightly different in that it ends up in Hyde Park - presumably to aid easy dispersal.

I want to go on it possibly with my dcs but do not want to risk being kettled.

Brilliant, and thank you so much - I loathe the tactic of kettling, which does encourage pissed off people to engage in criminal damage. It's false imprisonment - a crime, but not acknowledged as such, being as it's the police who do it.
Once again, well done to the clever lads working to help the students in this way and thank you, Granted for the article.
