Digital charity donations proposed

All for giving but giving freely and to charities of own choice. Like many, I guess, I support smaller, often local charities. But is there merit in this proposal? Certainly, making volunteering easier, less bureaucratic but the digital giving ideas?

Looking at the American model where voluntary giving is much more ingrained in the national psyche (even down to tipping which isn't popular in the UK) I think that anything we can do to bump up the miserable level of charitable contributions here is welcome.... even if it's rather 'in your face' to start off with.
