the whole thing is a big mess. and if we can't keep dd1 at her school, then she will lose all chance of being even semi-independent (as in, able to make her own choices in life, not as in living without help). I know how shitty it is to be facing some of these cuts.

but honestly, where is he supposed ot find the money? (and don't just fall back on "well, it's ok for him, he's a millionaire" - his money wouldn't even touch the sides of the hole we are in, even if he did decide to donate it (not that he should even have to think about that anyway, imo))

I think my main grievance with the OP is the suggestion that David Cameron and his wife were putting on the upset for the death of their son.

If the poor child was alive, the op wouldn't have started a vile thread saying they were hyopcritical for crying at his school.

Honestly, if we lose our basic humanity and nothing is sacrosanct, then we become as bad as those we revile.

There can never be a justification for making political capital from the death of a child.

The Labour government... like all those other governments you mention... may not have been able to see the 2008 global credit crisis and subsequent recession coming exactly, but they made the strategic mistake of behaving & spending as though there would never be a recession again. The Irish government is about to be turfed out on its ear for the same reasons as they were.

We lost our eldest son in very similar circs to Ivan Cameron, same age, condition, everything.

It's actually really unpleasant to have the death of a child in those circumstances tied in with party politics.

I voted labour last time, but tbh I think some of the cuts are absolutely necessary. And as someone else said, we're not in a mess purely because of the bankers, much is due to the labour party throwing ridiculous sums of money at families until a large swathe of society became dependent on handouts such as tax credits, and are now in deep trouble because of that dependency.

Being compassionate is about caring about our society and the millions of children who will soon be living below the breadline.

Do you relly think billionaires suchas Osborne and Cameron care about child poverty?

It's despicable to use your child for publicity. He did it all the way through the election campaign, whilst Brown said nothing about his children.

The Tories don't give a stuff about the most vulnerable in our society. If so why cut midwives, why cut school sport, why severly cut social housing to name just a few of the services on the line.
