NUS thugs must be arrested and thrown out of their unis

Criminal damage, arson, assualt - even attempted murder (throwing a fire extinguisher into the crowd from the roof). This is unacceptable behaviour.

I am disappointed that the police didn't have a grip on the situation.

The only good thing to come out of all this is that it will totally undermine support for the NUS and Labour. The new solution isn't perfect but takes all the important steps. It is a vast improvement on the current situation.

Perhaps all those disability claimants could now go and clean up after the protesters...it will give them something to do...the slackers!

I am sure they would support the fact that the 25% lowest paid graduates would pay less under the new system than they do currently. Very "progressive".

I am a mature student and I marched from LSE to Millbank and it was peaceful apart from the sudden surge of people in hoodies with their faces covered that started to smash parts of Millbank.

Longfingernails - I wish you had been there today. the students would have LOVED to hear your opinions.

I have to go and do something useful. Arguing with virtual Tories is depressing. It's the insensitive unkindness that gets me every time. Going to peel some spuds.

Those members of the Bullingdon who smash property should be arrested too.

As for newspapers - the Mail opposes rises in tuition fees, and cuts to child benefit, because they will mostly impact "Middle Britain".

Actually, I have my Mail and even Sun moments, I must admit - especially when it comes to the EU - but my political philosophy is definitely closer to that of the Times. I do worry though that they are sometimes too "high Tory" - for the Tories to consistently win they need to cultivate more "low Tories" like Thatcher did.

bugger x posted with you - maybe you would then as if I'm wearing my converse (pink as well) I have to turn my jeans up because I struggle to find jeans with short enough legs to wear with flats

It's hardly Armageddon Shock I don't normally condone damage and violence but a lot of young people voted LibDem(my daughter included and never again - she says) and feel betrayed.
