I voted for the candidate i thought would best represent us locally, someone I know and respect and has inceed since become an AM (her Dh was promoted to Lords and under Welsh system she takes AM seat as she qwualifies under bote transfer- NOT becuase theya re married LOL)

However I am now an ex Lib Dem becuase nationally I think they are shit. I've joined Labour because they are at at embryonic stage in post-Governemnt development and I would quite like a say in how the main non governmental party develops. I don't think the LD's will be with us in a decade.

As for the Tories- I am seeing my industry (Charity sector) in trouble on the news and failing to see the promised support for DH's self employed business in new teachnologies.

The Tories are getting rid of free bus passes for the pensioners, which is bad. But we find out it was a Labour plan, the loving socialists had made it law and the Tories pretend it can't be taken off the statute book.

wasn't it the Guardian who said vote LibDem and knifed the socialist Gordon Brown. They're all liars and hypocrites, yes it is bad that private companies will profit so much, but exactly the same thing would have happened under the phony socialists with their academy schools and Group 4 prisons. The Guardian advocated getting rid of Labour and now it pretends it is back on the side of the people. These middle class granola munching Guardianistas are having a laugh at Labour voters.

I voted Lib Dem and so far I am happy, even though my Husband works for the public sector.

Labour had to go and hopefully the liberals will soften some of the extreme tory views.

I'm glad they got into the coalition, if only as a slightly socialist buffer from the Tories.

I'm not happy with what's being proposed wrt the NHS, bloody terrified in fact, but I would always, I think, vote for what I believe in.

That being said, Labour would have been a wasted vote here.

And actually Hecate also is right in that Labour had been in too long. I still think they were best of a bad bunch but hope now the Labour Party can regroup and become a true party of the left rather than Torylite. Cuts dids have to be made but the Conservatives always target education and the NHS. Personally I would rather they ditched Trident and subsidising large corporations and protected the health and education systems.

Can't believe how much debt we're in and there are people moaning about free swimming being cut!

My ds2's subsidized school bus has been cut. It's a pita, but I can see the reasons why they've done it.

I also voted LibDem to try and oust the Conservative MP as Labour have no chance here. I definitely regret it and feel shameful that my vote would appear to endorse the Con/Lib coalition. I would never vote LibDem again. From now on I will be sticking my my actual beliefs and not trying to vote tactically.

I am not British so was not allowed to vote. Would have voted Labour though.

I feel like crying every time I hear about new cuts, especially the ones in education. I will never understand anyone who think they can "save" a country by sacrificing the next generation.

I voted Labour, so yes, I am happy that I stayed true to my socialist principles and wasn't swayed by the smiling knives now in power.

Labour needed to go. They had been there too long, they were spending too much and they were making promises that they country could not afford.

We have harsh times ahead, this is true.

The country cannot spend money it does not have.

Cuts have to be made. What is the other option? Continue spending money and getting deeper and deeper into debt?

Everyone, naturally, feels that savings must be made - just not their job, just not affecting their life. Sadly that's not going to happen. We are all going to feel it.

If anyone has a realistic alternative to cuts and savings in order to save britain from going bust, please, speak up! I'm sure the country would love to hear it!

Oh and I am pissed off with people in my constituency who voted LibDem as we lost a very good, local issue Labour MP and gained the biggest fuckwit of all Tories who doesn't believe in local issues and is so priviledged that he genuinely doesn't understand how the cuts affect the poor.

From talking to my friends I would say those of us who voted Labour or Conservative are generally happy with how we voted. In the area I live in a lot of people voted LibDem to try to keep the Tories out and they feel betrayed and who not vote that way again.

I voted LibDem, so no, I'm not happy. We now have a Tory MP after 9 years of Labour. I wish I'd voted Labour.
