Norman's office has been turned into a polling station. Brian and Len are checking off the voters against the electoral roll. Ken is conducting the exit poll. The candidates are:-

Norman the Foreman (Tea drinking party)
Bossy Ross the lifeboat coxswain (Lifesaving party)
Michael the beach policeman (Law and order party)
Jack Jellyhead the robber (Legalise robbery party)
Father Christmas (Christmas all year round party)

Early results from the exit poll suggest that the tea drinking party and lifesaving party are doing rather well.....

SoMuch's ds (Master Three Cups as he is known mostly to me and Franca) is not so hot on the girly playmobil. However I feel there is a playmobil-interweb twinning with the degullion household where we are swamped with pony riders, dolphin trainers, vets, carrot farmers and folk who do business in a camper van. All very female dominated professions as we all know.

One day there will be a glorious meet up and SoMuch and I will tick off the entire playmobil catalogue and I will push some laydee candidates into the arena.

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 06/05/2010 20:12

Hmm, I notice that none of the candidates are women. Am considering sending Barbies to demonstrate in front of the polling station.

Slubberdegullion · 06/05/2010 20:05

I would have voted for the playmobil nun. I bet she would have similar policies to Norman.

(nuns drink a lot of tea don't they?)

Do little people have arms? If they don't they don't really drive the fire engines do they?

EdgarAllenPoll · 06/05/2010 20:04

Next someone will call to Return them to the shop. (or, worse Put them on Ebay)

oh yes, we've heard it all before, you say you just want to look after Playmobil people, and their interests, but what really motivates you is that you are afraid of Little People. You fear their lack of articulated limbs, their youthful vigour, their cheerful noise-loaded town environment....It just Scares you.

weegiemum · 06/05/2010 20:04

I'm voting jack Jellyhead.

When do we get the results?

Macdog · 06/05/2010 20:02

I want to vote Bossy Ross

nappyzoneloveslindor · 06/05/2010 19:58

No really i am not anti little people i actually prefer some little people to playmobil pointy types and i am particularly fond of the airport guys truly - that said i do find when you stand on one in the dark you can really lose your balance depending on the pile of the carpet i suppose. Jeez i think i better get my posts deleted .....

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 19:55

I would have expected the Playmobil tramp to make an appearance in the candidates list

nappyzoneloveslindor · 06/05/2010 19:55

Ok well what are the candidates views on a referendum after all this to see if little people/ weebles and happy landers should be given the right ?

thaliablogs · 06/05/2010 19:53

Your candidate list is not sufficiently diverse, I find myself unable to vote.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 19:52

nappy are you prejudiced against Little People?

I bet some of your best friends are Little People, no?

trumpton · 06/05/2010 19:49

A vote here for Bossy Ross as my DS is a lifeboat man. He has a letter from his mummy saying he is not allowed out on the sea if it's rough .

EdgarAllenPoll · 06/05/2010 19:49

But they aren't people ..
No-one's suggesting extending the vote to Ponies (which are more like rubber anyway, aren't they?)

I just feel th little people, who are deemed capable of driving cars, fire engines an trains, are equally capable of voting.

nappyzoneloveslindor · 06/05/2010 19:48

sorry edgar i didnt even get your name right . I wish your little people well

nappyzoneloveslindor · 06/05/2010 19:47

Eggarallenpoll - sorry if i have offended you but its just not right - they stand completely differently with fixed limbs not allowing for free movement - a completely different breed - i agree with other posters - its a playmobil election ffs it will be Weebles before we know it if we let the little people in.

Slubberdegullion · 06/05/2010 19:40

EdgarAllen if you continue along those lines then you'll get the My Little Ponies voting and the My Littlest Pet Shop.

There'll be CHAOS. Those ponies are right mean brutes (think Zanu PF).

And don't let anyone mention the lego people.

Everyone knows lego people and playmobil people cannot mix.

Slubberdegullion · 06/05/2010 19:36

ROFL at this thread

hooray hooray Norman the Foreman at last gets his moment in the spotlight.

I have had several previous encounters with Norman and he is very much a delegator. I've NEVER seen him doing even a spot of work, he's always sat on his backside with his trusty mug.

However he is true to his policies and after discussion with the playmobil pony ladies and the dolphin trainers we are giving our vote to Norman.

GO NORMAN

gagamama · 06/05/2010 19:22

I'd like to see a coalition government with Jack and Michael TBH, but looks like Norman will win the majority. So therefore I vote Jack.

EdgarAllenPoll · 06/05/2010 19:21

little people

i think any statement beginning 'i'm not a bigot buut..' is bound to end in bigotry!

why shouldn't they have the vote? Are they not plastic? If you scratch them, do they not lose colour? If you chew them, do they not deform?

sethstarkaddersmum · 06/05/2010 19:18

we have lots of ELC Happyland people - they would like to form an alliance with Edgar's Little People to try to get suffrage. Even though Little People are a bit weird and fat looking.

sethstarkaddersmum · 06/05/2010 19:15

I'm voting Bossy Ross because dh has been rescued by a lifeboat before now.

Now must be a suitable moment to tell you all about the Playmobil elections my brothers and I used to hold. DB2 had far more people than the rest of us (because he was the younger and spoilt) but each bloc had one vote. When DB2 worked out he was disadvantaged by this electoral system he had a horrendous tantrum and ran round the house screaming 'I want proportional representation!!!!'

nappyzoneloveslindor · 06/05/2010 19:13

Im sorry not meaning to be a bigot or anything but i dont thing Fisher Price Little People types sould be allowed to vote in this election. Perhaps in the European elections.........

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 19:12

Fisher Price? I don't think so!

hmmSleep · 06/05/2010 19:12

I too am strangely drawn to Michael the beach policeman, purely on looks, very shallow I know but if Norman likes him that's good enough for me. My x is in Michael's box.

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 19:12

What are FP "little people"?
