Norman's office has been turned into a polling station. Brian and Len are checking off the voters against the electoral roll. Ken is conducting the exit poll. The candidates are:-

Norman the Foreman (Tea drinking party)
Bossy Ross the lifeboat coxswain (Lifesaving party)
Michael the beach policeman (Law and order party)
Jack Jellyhead the robber (Legalise robbery party)
Father Christmas (Christmas all year round party)

Early results from the exit poll suggest that the tea drinking party and lifesaving party are doing rather well.....

What time are you hoping for the results to be declared SoMuch?

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 22:30

Ah, that's true Petal!

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 22:30

Norman may possibly be able to stay awake ....if he drinks enough tea!

Father Christmas should be used to being awake at night though.....and possibly Jack Jellyhead, I'm sure he usually operates at night. And lifeboat crews and police have to work shifts/get called out at night.

(But you won't have grown out of Playmobil by then!!)

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 22:28

We have plenty of airline staff, so will look into that for next election! (although ds may have grown out of Playmobil by then .

OP posts:
petalpower · 06/05/2010 22:26

Will the candidates be staying up all night until the results are declared? Norman doesn't really seem the chap for an all-nighter!

fruitshootsandheaves · 06/05/2010 22:25

Well maybe Persephone the Pert Pilot could stand at the next election then?

I do feel you need a candidate from the airline industry.

I am wishing Bossy Ross luck as I feel he would be quite 'fit' if he was real.

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 22:20

Fruitshoots, we don't have any Playmobil aircraft analysts , only aircraft pilots, ground staff etc.

Petal, the candidates are all tired after a hard day's campaigning. Norman is feeling cautiously optimistic, and is currently having a cup of tea to perk him up.

Not sure about declaring before Sunderland!

OP posts:
petalpower · 06/05/2010 22:16

I think it would have to have been Norman this time. Maybe I should get myself organised with a postal vote next time round! How are the candidates feeling now SoMuch?

fruitshootsandheaves · 06/05/2010 22:16

I boycotted the vote as there was no Arthur the Aircraft Analyst (ban Ash party)

sethstarkaddersmum · 06/05/2010 22:15

if you get your arse in gear you could declare before Sunderland, you know

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 22:13

At 10.06???? !!

Polling ended at 10.00 I'm afraid. If I let you vote now it might set a precedent and then everyone would want to vote after the polling station had closed.

But out of interest, who would you have voted for?

OP posts:
petalpower · 06/05/2010 22:10

Bangs on polling station door.
Surely I'm not too late to vote?!

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 22:08

Oh, and with regard to there being no female candidates, if we had had more time we would have arranged some more constituencies - then maybe Kylie the lifeguard would have stood for the lifesaving party etc. We do have some female Playmobilers, but ds's collection is fairly male-orientated (especially with the builders, police and fire service, although we have some female fire and police personnel).

Slubber, I would love a get-together with our respective Playmobil collections - it would be great fun!

Right, I'm back (having discussed the Playmobil election during the break at the orchestra rehearsal I was attending.) Polling has now finished, and I will count up the votes.

We have appointed Adrian the cargo boat captain as the returning officer. The results will be announced in the morning.

Thank you all everyone who voted!

OP posts:
dearprudence · 06/05/2010 21:52

I'm voting Father Christmas.

Have you apppointed a returning officer yet?

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/05/2010 21:51

The Kenyan playmobil all forgot to get their arses into gear with their postal votes so have decided it's easier to pretend to be Somali pirates and are off looking for lucrative Russian oil tankers to hijack.

DastardlyorSmugly · 06/05/2010 21:43

I'm going to vote the Playmobil equivalent of the Greens (i.e. a wasted vote) and vote for Father Christmas.

loulou77 · 06/05/2010 21:17

MmeLindtChocBrownies, we have a playmobil fairy if you can think of some others for an all women shortlist, although with only 45 mins to go it's probably too late to address the unfair representation of women in the 2010 Playmobil election

KeeptheRedFennelFlying · 06/05/2010 20:53

In our house all the goodie zoo animals are labour have been ranged against the baddies (the tories). David Cameron, a gorilla, travels round on his legomobile and gets his head periodically chopped off. Nick Clegg rides up on his white charger, kills a few baddies and disappears off again. Ben Bradshaw rallies the troops, aided by his faithful pony Ben Bradshaw Junior.

glittery · 06/05/2010 20:53

Is Michael the Beach Policemans party affiliated in any way with the US tv series of the same name? Methinks he might be getting some serious financial backing!

I shall give him my vote anyway for looking most like a member of the Village People and seeing as theres no Red Indian candidate (he was my fave!)

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 06/05/2010 20:46

dd votes for Father Christmas

Slubberdegullion · 06/05/2010 20:39

I would like to ask Michael the Beach Policeman two questions.

  1. Is there really so much crime on the beach that it warrants its own police division and presumably distinct uniform

which leads me on to

  1. are skinny white jeans really an aproppriate uniform for a law enforcement officer
weegiemum · 06/05/2010 20:34

dh votes for the tea drinkers

dd1 likes Jack Jellyhead

sethstarkaddersmum · 06/05/2010 20:23

Can we have a hustings where we ask them questions?

I would like to know the candidates' views on the old-style construction versus System X.
