..who writes moderately entertaining columns about his personal life in The Guardian. Yesterday's was about the perils of self-googling, and in particular of an episode of self-googling which returned the text 'Tim Dowling for example is a twat'

Where did he find that humbling line?? On mumsnet of course!

In the article he claims to have given up self-googling, but we know that isn't true, don't we.

Shall we give him a few more personal insights? I think he is less of a twat than Jon Ronson and he doesn't have a whiney voice.

Tim Dowling is a good example of a twat, however I do like his line "I'm the twat you name when you need an example." That makes him slightly less of a twat.

Gordon Ramsey is a good example of a twat.

Agree, Piers Morgan is a good example of a twat.

Rod Liddle is a twat

Jeffrey Archer is a twat

Hazel Bleers is queen twat

Tim Dowling is funny, but I imagine a bit infuriating to live with

Chris Cleave (author and Sat. Guardian columnist) is very funny an his novels, Incendiary and The Other Hand are also very funny and sad

Keith Allen is a fine example of a twat. But uses it to good effect in Robin Hood.

In fact I would chuck in the whole series of Robin Hood...might as well be sponsored by Boots No 7.

i LIKE tim dowling, he amuses me well enough on a weekly basis. those colums are tough to do. of course i might be running scared in case i get an email from the twat.

I think Tim Dowling is lucky he was only called a twat on Mumsnet.It could have been so much worse - what if KerryMum had been talking about him?
