A plate has fallen down the back of the loo - how can I get it out?

And not just any plate - this is a plate painted by ME for dd's hair bands! I did it when she was painting a mug for dh- the man was so impressed he put it in the window. [preen]

It's annoying.

Now the cistern of the loo is built into a tongue and groove type wall affair, and can only be accessed from the top. The plate has fallen down, below the cistern, onto the floor below.

I can't reach it, nobody can reach it.

Any ideas?

hairbobble plate has now become booble pate. i think I may have a little accident in a minute.

mrsmaidamess · 28/10/2008 18:25

Well, thats a ridiculous suggestion

JustKeepScreamingInFear · 28/10/2008 18:25

Can i just check something...

the plate was displayed in the FRONT window as dh thought it was so wonderful.
Yet it was above/behind the loo, so the loo window is the front window?
Is it frosted?
Just wondering if indeed DH was paying a compliment or rather effectively hiding said booble pate from view....

I have chickens if that helps.

Could you winch the guinea pig down wearing a harness? And a helmet with a lamp on the front?

JustKeepScreamingInFear · 28/10/2008 18:24

This is brightening the end of a very long day

thesockmonsterofdoom · 28/10/2008 18:23

title suggeastion
Myt art is so much better than my dd's and now it is gone.

LaMonsterWeaselwolf · 28/10/2008 18:23

well it's not going to come off again... it can be a hair bobble plate + commemorative fabric marker of it's MN hair raising experience down the back of the bog.

covertmission · 28/10/2008 18:23

iirc the kid was rescued by someone tunneling in from a sideways projection, so the trained guineapig idea shouldn't be shelved quite yet imvho.

JustKeepScreamingInFear · 28/10/2008 18:22

but think of that guy on a chair stuck to the wall, worked for him!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 28/10/2008 18:22

I have deep concerns re the superglue. They didn't get that kid out by dropping a curtain doused with hard-as-nails did they?

JustKeepScreamingInFear · 28/10/2008 18:21

title suggestions?

oh lonely plate....

oh hairbooble plate how i miss thee....

I think we need to record a charity song to help hundred in her time of need. It may also help other hairbooble plates from meeting the same end.

snigger · 28/10/2008 18:19

FGS get some fabric before Prophet POPS

thesockmonsterofdoom · 28/10/2008 18:19

I am back to report that the hoover DOES NOT work. Nowhere near.

Though it did retrieve a comb.

so that's nice.

I think blu tack might not be strong enough, but am like the up inside of the wall thing.

Okay will report back, going to look for super glue.

gosh maidamess, I had forgotten about that kid. It is almost excatly like that isn't it. Although I think we, the assistors, need to have a sheen of sweat, and probably snickers bars.

snigger · 28/10/2008 18:17

Anyway, why don't you keep your hairboobles on the floor or in your dressing gown pocket like the rest of us?

mrsmaidamess · 28/10/2008 18:17

hairboobles!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 28/10/2008 18:16

it's worse than the kid and the well, this is a hand made piece of history. for hairboobles.
