Can I make ice cream from shrews?

The cats need a treat on a day like this. My boy cat looks very hot and bothered. Girl cat has brought us 4 shrews already and I found a mouse corpse behind the bin, which smells relatively fresh.

Do you think the cats would like it if I froze them, perhaps mixed with a bit of cream? I know they can't taste sugar, so I was thinking of boiling cream and leaving the shrews to infuse at that stage, then making a sugar-free traditional custard (albeit shrew flavoured) and putting that in the ice cream maker.

The shrews are already dead so I'm assuming IANBU.

Fucking hells fire this is a wind up you can’t honestly be planning to make shrew ice cream & add a mouse that smells fresh, from behind the bin I’m pissing myself laughing; I have visions of you lifting it up by it’s tail & swinging it in-front of your face to sniff it; this is the most hilarious post I’ve seen on here yet & there have been some cracking ones. Personally I would not let any of the little critters anywhere near my kitchen or any of my kitchen appliances; if the cats are finding it too hot freeze some cat milk for them to lick; keep them indoors in the cool with a fan on but shrew ice cream it’s just far

I'm trying to feed my 5 month old to sleep and suppressing the laughter. It's actually good job you posted @Bwix got good advice re avoiding the shrews. I thoughy my DM was a mad cat lady but you're next level. IMHO I don't think cats would want anything freezer cold, I'm sure some food from fridge would be suffucent

What you’ll need
A can of tuna (in brine or spring water)
A jug
Some water
Ice lolly moulds
How to make a cat ice lolly treat
Make up some ice lollies for your cat with some of their favourite flavours.
Open your can of tuna. You can also substitute this with low-salt chicken stock if you haven't got any.
Dilute the tuna brine or water in a jug with some cold water
Pour the contents into ice lolly moulds and freeze
Give them to your cat in a bowl or hold it for them. They'll love it!

At my local pet shop they sell ready frozen mice (possibly aimed at the snake keepers). Just get those, insert a stick and your cats have a delicious chilly treat.

We freeze Lick e lix sticks. That's probably a bit boring really in comparison. But it would save you boiling up dead stuff broth!
