Just thought I'd better start a new thread for those of you who would like to see updates before the old one is totally full.

All still good here! I've been a bit low on iron but the tablets REALLY don't agree with me. So I've started just taking one in the morning with orange juice, and having a spoonful of Floridix in the afternoon and making an effort to eat spinach and red meat.
I've been feeling baby OMG moving around a lot more now he's getting bigger and stronger, which is lovely although slightly alarming at times!

We've probably got a maximum of 7 weeks to go now as I understand the drs are not keen for older mums to go much over 39 weeks. Eeeek.
Will keep you all posted.

Place marking to come back and read your original thread.
I'm a first time Mum to be due next month after a 7 and a half year trying for her like you couldn't go through IVF.
Congratulations 💐 💐

This is just the best thread I’ve ever read on mn! Congrats op, I don’t know you but I’m absolutely delighted for you xxx

eatyourcrustspls · 10/06/2022 20:37

Oh I remember your first post! How utterly wonderful. Huge congratulations, OP. Thrilled for you. Xx

ThisIsGroundControl · 10/06/2022 20:35

So glad to read all is going well, looking forward to more updates.

JuneJubilee · 10/06/2022 20:24

@Omgwhatthehell

i followed your original thread, then lost it. When I saw this thread today I had my heart in my mouth as it sounded like you'd just found out. I'm SO thrilled to hear DS is still safely tucked up!!

10 years ago my friend was breech and she read loads of stuff about how to get them to turn, we had some fun evenings trying to get her into the correct positions (her DH is still as useless and unsupportive now as he was then)

so glad to have 'found' you sgain!!

TolkiensFallow · 10/06/2022 20:18

I’m very heartened by this thread! Congratulations OP!

geniuswater · 10/06/2022 20:06

Such a wonderful thread, so happy and excited for you ☺️ 💙

Mylittlepea · 10/06/2022 19:59

Fabulous thread, thank you for sharing your journey😍

When I was pregnant I was desperately low in iron and couldn’t tolerate iron tablets I took a daily sachet of this www.spatone.com/en-gb/ - great stuff. I am the proud mum of 2 IVF/ICSI babies so I love to hear a miracle story.

best wishes xxx

PinkPanther50 · 10/06/2022 19:59

Awh glad I found this thread, I remember the original one. Baby Boy has an awful lot of ‘Aunty MN’s’ 😄 When I took iron tablets I found taking them at night with orange juice had the least side effects. Looking forward to the updates

GetThatHelmetOn · 10/06/2022 19:56

Lovely thread!

Omgwhatthehell · 10/06/2022 19:41

@Babyghirl I’m wishing you loads of good luck!
It sounds like you are being well looked after.
I have found the NHS antenatal care really good.

If you can't deal with the iron tablets, try dried apricots. That's what the prescribed for me after having my twins as I needed to keep my iron levels up. They can make you a bit windy if you have too many, but you're pregnant so anything goes really. And they are jampacked with iron.

@Americano75
Thank you very much for your kind words.

@SailingNotSurfing
Thank you very much this is the furtherest I have ever got, never had a good scan all have been no growth and no heart beat so to get here is amazing, I think odds are away down now for a loss.

Brenna24 · 10/06/2022 19:34

I too have just found your original thread. Congratulations, what a wonderful surprise. I have a 4 year old 'Drs Said No' surprise who was born at 34 weeks gestation 2 weeks before I turned 40 after multiple miscarriages and then secondary infertility. It is such a wonderful adventure and I have made the most of every minute I have with her. She still drives me bonkers sometimes and the exhaustion can be relentless but I would change nothing. Enjoy your journey, it is fun.

Nanalisa60 · 10/06/2022 19:34

So pleased you are both well, enjoy the summer, don’t forget to but your feet up, and have fun nesting!!

Unsubscribed · 10/06/2022 19:31

As others have posted what an uplifting thread , lovely to read your story so far OP and will look forward to following the updates . I had my son at 40 as well.
Sending best wishes

Omg I love this thread, congratulations 🎊 to you and dp.

I'm now pregnant to with what I hope is my rainbow baby after 4 miscarriages I'm 11+2 week's have had 3 scans so far on NHS cause of my past, also work in a hospital so a girl from ultrasound had a quick peak today and baby was dancing I'm hoping it hangs in there.

Oh how lovely. I hope your baby dances all the way into your arms in a few months.

Omgwhatthehell · 10/06/2022 19:29

Thanks everyone! DH is out tonight with a friend so I’m just pottering around at home and sorting out bits in the nursery.

@Irishfarmer Its good to hear from you again! I’m glad you are doing well.
We have been given a pile of first size clothes by a friend who had a baby in March and we have also bought a load of 0-3 ourselves. I’ve tried not to go too nuts because everyone says we’ll get given lots of small clothes as gifts. My aunties have knitted him a few little cardigans and they are so sweet! I can’t wait to take photos of him in them to send to them. They are very excited because I think they thought my generation were done having babies.

@nettie434 funnily enough I’ve eaten tinned sardines and prunes over the past couple of days! (Not together Grin)
There must be a bit of truth in listening to your body as I’ve really fancied them. I’ll have a blood test again to check my iron level in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed it’ll have improved.

@Cherrysoup I don’t think he’s moved. It still feels like he’s breech. But we have a 36 week scan in just over 3 weeks so we’ll see what’s happening then. I’m trying not to stress about it too much. If he’s still breech then we’ll probably go with the advice to try to let the drs turn him.

Found your original post by chance today just what I needed after the week I've had. Congratulations to you both so looking forward to the updates!

BiscoffAnythingIsTheWayForward · 10/06/2022 19:26

Well…that was a rollercoaster ride. I almost cried with joy myself at your amazing surprise! I’ll be following along for updates. Hope the next 6 weeks or so goes smoothly

DisforDarkChocolate · 10/06/2022 19:20

If you're struggling with iron supplements try a fortified cereal like Weetabix, it has something like 80% of the iron a non-pregnant woman needs.

Why is this in the aibu section?
Is there/should there be a se tion for people who are enciente?

Because it started there as the OP was wondering if SWBU to think she was pregnant, and she has kept it there. I really dont see what your problem is, apart from sounding affected.
