... and so I'm bringing you four days of celebrations in Playmoland. Today is King Athelstan's birthday parade. The route has been lined with bunting.

Maybe he could run the bar at the Platinum Concert!

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 16:25

I'll have to find somewhere to use Sir Staplehurst Lydd! Sir Headcorn Blean was present in the Birthday Parade (in the infantry). Grin

Staplehurst.
Please can Sir Staplehurst feature soon?!

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 16:15

Staplehurst or Headcorn? I have Playmo knights with both those names! Grin

Hurrah for Lady Marden Wye. I used to commute to London on that line, from the next station to Marden!

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 15:27

Thank you! I'm very pleased I bought those fanfare trumpets for the October 2018 wedding. They came in very handy for today's scenes!

Your creativity more than compensates!

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 15:17

Thank you, although Playmoland didn't have a robed choir or a fab band or all those Beefeaters...

LIZS · 03/06/2022 15:07

Fab, rather more colourful than St Paul's

CharSiu · 03/06/2022 14:53

Thank you, that’s so cute

petalpower · 03/06/2022 14:41

Brilliant as always!

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 13:41

Just to let you know, tomorrow's photos won't appear until the afternoon, as I'm at work in the morning!

Loving it!

I’m working today - so this is the service I have attended/viewed.

Yes thank you @SoMuchToBits Flowers

Playmoland is such a lovely tonic.

poorbuthappy · 03/06/2022 12:15

This is wonderful. Thanks for inviting us.

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 12:11

I'm afraid I couldn't fit any guards inside the cathedral! Grin

A fainting guard would be rather good actually! Of course a paramedic would be on hand to swiftly offer assistance, and no harm done since plastic is very durable. Wink

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 11:57

Thank you all! The clergy were gathered from several sets. The Dean of Lowbeach came with the church Ruggington Cathedral which we bought in 2011 for the first Royal wedding.

The two Archbishops are from Christmas sets (they are supposed to be St Nicholas but thought they make lovely Archbishops!).

The Bishop of Highbath is actually one of the 3 wise men from another Christmas set.

This is fab OP - I do hope none of the guards have fainted

dizzydizzydizzy · 03/06/2022 11:51

Awww lovely OP. Very sweet.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 03/06/2022 11:45

Well done. This is fabulous 👏

viques · 03/06/2022 11:45

The cathedral looks stunning. Hats off to the unsung volunteers who keep it gleaming. Loving the stained glass, I am very fond of a bit of stained glass.

SoMuchToBits · 03/06/2022 11:45

At the end of the service, the Archbishop of Ruggington leads the Royal family out of the cathedral.
