To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Can anyone living in the Maida Vale/St John's Wood area of London tell me if this is a real thing or was I hallucinating. Standing at a bus stop in Maida Vale, probably around 6am, dark, very foggy morning, 25ish years ago. Out of the fog come 25+ horses fast trotting down the road from the direction of St John's Wood. They were unsaddled horses, being driven from behind by a man on a horse with a whip. Very weird, very beautiful. I stood at that bus stop at that time of the day nearly every day for a year, but only ever saw the horses that one time. Nobody else I knew in the area had ever seen them. I wondered if they might be from a barracks or police horses being exercised, but never found out.

Someone up thread mentioned a low flying aeroplane. I had this standing outside my house in East London (but nowhere near an airport). A gigantic passenger plane came roaring over, it seemed to be barely skimming the roof tops. I was expecting to hear a crash/explosion any second after it passed over out of my sight, as I was sure it was in trouble flying that low, but nothing. Nobody else on my street heard/saw anything.

Sorry that should say, never hang things on my door (although I’m sure my mum would agree I never hung things up generally!).

Not sure if it’s a glitch in the matrix or if it’s just my house is haunted! Was looking for a certain top to wear out in the summer a few years ago, hunted through the wardrobe, clean wash pile, dirty wash pile, asked my mum (as I was living with my family at the time) if she’d seen it, both said no. Gave up and wore something else. Got home and it was hanging on my bedroom door on a hanger… I never ever hang things up. Also I used to have a remote controlled stereo in my room, I got home from work once and sat down on my bed, pushed the button on my tv remote to turn it on and my stereo came on blasting full volume… I hadn’t used it for years. Very odd things happen in my house!

DH works from home and is very organised and pedantic with his work stuff - always has the same things neatly arranged in the same order on the table, and moves to the sofa to take calls, where he makes notes always using the same moleskine notebook and black propelling pencil.

One day took a call, made notes, stood up to move back to the table and the propelling pencil was gone. Literally nowhere to be found. He took the entire sofa apart, reached into the back and sides up to his elbow, pulled all the other furniture out, checked every pocket - gone. He couldn’t get over it - he never loses anything, let alone something he actually had in his hand a few seconds earlier.

He mithered about it constantly for the next few days, while I took the piss, saying it’d obviously fallen into a time slip and would turn up when the glitch had corrected itself. But then it actually did! He came down to start work one morning and it was there on the table, in its usual place right next to the notebook. He really thought I was fucking with him but i was equally freaked out by it. A small, inconsequential thing, but it was truly strange.

In our old house. Opened plan. The kids were in the living room watching tv, I was in the kitchen. Something brushed past me quite firmly if that makes sense. I wasn't scared but it was weird. We didn't have any pets.

Same house, I was in the kitchen, kids were eating their dinner. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw (and heard) someone going downstairs to the basement(not spooky.)
I thought it was my husband and I'd maybe not heard him getting back from work, so called down to him asking him when he wanted to eat. There was no answer. I went down to look and no one was there

We used to do the Ouija board. Our granny taught us how to do it safely
We repetitively kept getting a spirit with an unusual German name. He said he was 25 and a German gunner during the war and lived in the town we were holidaying in. We got 2 other spirits who were German too. Years later I read an article that there was an old POW camp near to where we had been holidaying. It brought me out in a cold sweat.

I was standing outside a sweet shop with my granny when I was quite wee. I can't remember exactly how it happened, either I said something about the big lorry coming down the street or it was her, but in a panic she told me to move from the front of the shop. I remember being really scared. The lorry went past and the shop sign/fascia fell off. It was a heavy old thing and would have flattened me!

I would absolutely have said I must have had some sort of episode, I imagined it, maybe I wasn't well, I was very sceptical of anything like this my entire life before it happened. But my little girl described him exactly as I saw him too, it still makes my skin crawl to think about and I've only ever told my husband about it because... well, it makes me sound demented.

When I was 11 we moved house. We had the keys a few days early and so my Mum, my sister and I decided to go and look around the new house after school. It was a new build, so totally empty.

When we got to the house, there was a black cat sitting on the door step. We are all cat lovers so made a fuss of it and then opened the front door.

The cat shot into the house and went up the stairs. We couldn't find it anywhere. Searched the empty house but no sign of it. We eventually had to leave but never ever saw it again. No cat asking to be let out when we went back to visit or when we eventually moved in.

All three of us saw it happen.

When my eldest son was about seven I was a single mum to him and his younger brother. I was a supply teacher and I worried about money constantly. I always bought school shoes new, they didn't have slippers, and wellies were second hand as long as they weren't too worn. He had outgrown everything so I bought the school shoes new. I was putting off wellies until pay day / time to trawl the charity shops. We went to the shoe and clothes recycling containers at the tesco up the road. I opened the big metal flap to put his old shoes and wellies on. In the tray was a pair of brand new , green , size 7 children's wellies. Exactly what we needed. I just stood and stared at them. When I took them off the flap and put the old things in they fell into the container. I have no idea why the wellies hadn't. They has never been worn .If they had been pink and covered in glitter he would never have accepted them. It was an absolute miracle at the time. Coincidence of course , but amazing

Something that happens regularly is that I will arrive somewhere when it is empty and within minutes of my arrival it will fill up with people, just like in The Sims when you go to an empty community lot and then it starts to populate. Some evidence that life really is a computer simulation ?

@batmanladybird when you can't see something, it still exists.
So you show a baby a ball, hide it behind you and up to a certain age that's it, ball no longer exists. Hence crying when something they ove disappears. They don't look for it behind you until they've learnt object permanence

Oh I forgot this, no idea how. Many years ago, when dh and I were newly dating, we booked a supposedly haunted hotel in the Highlands. Too late for dinner, we went out for takeaway food and were caught up behind the most stunning display of marching bagpipers. Took ages for them to clear before we could find a take away but we so enjoyed it. Mist was rolling off the hills, it was dusk, the sound as the pipers faded slowly.

Got back to the hotel bar and told the barman how lucky he was to live among such beauty and musical displays. Much guffawing from the locals at our experience. Seems to be a regular 'spectacle' for the visitors. But it was real!

Also remembered when I was pregnant Damian Rice had just launched, I listened to his CD non stop. Three years later, driving ds back from nursery and the Blowers Daughter comes on the radio. Ds says 'mum, I liked that song, you played it when I was in your tummy lots and lots."

I dont think I have but I firmly believe that we have a helpful household spirit.

I put my ring down last night when I put hand cream on, it wasnt there when I went to get it this morning. Figured it must have got knocked off, had a look and couldnt find it.

Did the hoovering and didnt suck it up so I started to wonder if I had moved it. Anyway several hours later, about half an hour ago I sat down and there on the floor right in front me (no where near where I had been last night) was the ring that I know hadnt been there earlier!

So I said thank you to our spirit who often does us little favours like this :)

I often get premonitions in dreams. I knew my grandfathers were going to die about a week before they did. They weren’t suffering from any limiting diseases or in hospital on palliative care or anything. This has also happened with other people to. My mother, aunt and my grandfather could also do the same thing. Freaks us out every time.

I was also driving home once and lost control of the car on a bend on some oil that had been spilled on the road. As I felt the back kick out on the car I heard my dads voice in my head saying ‘turn the wheel the other way’. My dad had taught me to drive but we had never done anything like controlling a skid or anything like that. His voice was completely calm and so clear.It was like he was sitting next to me. I did what I was told and managed to pull the car back under control without hitting any oncoming traffic.
Issue is that he had died 6 months prior to the event. He saved my life that day or I would have gone into the side of a brick barn.
