Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

I lost an earring, part of a pair bought for my 30th birthday. They were platinum with a tiny diamond in each. I thought it had fallen on the floor in front of my dresser but never found it despite searching high and low and looking for it every time I hoovered.

Fast forward four years, we were moving out and the day we left, I walked round the empty bedroom looking at it and remembering the good times when something glinted up at me -you guessed it - the earring. Totally bizarre.

Thanks for that link TedImgoingmad - will listen before bed...

My daughter is autistic and is 30 now. For the early part of her life she was non verbal. One day, when she was about 3 she was in the back of the car as we drove down a country lane. She started screaming in real panic. I pulled over and got out and went to console her. She looked at me, laughed and said ‘tractor fall over’. I continued along the road and about where we would have been there was a tractor on its side, completely blocking both sides of the road.
Other things she would do was run in from the garden and hide trembling underneath the table, about 30 seconds to a minute before a loud jet (she was scared of them) flew low over our house. As she got older and more verbal these incidents declined in frequency and eventually stopped altogether.

This is true, but not very nice.

In February 2004, I had a dream that I was driving through the night and an owl hit my windscreen and I crashed. The dream ended there.

I woke up feeling worried for some reason, and rang my Mum and Dad just to feel better. My brother had been killed early that morning on his way to work, on his motorbike. No other vehicles involved - on a country road. He was 22.

I went round to his flat that night to take care of stuff and to collect his cat to bring home. it was immaculate as always, with his pressed white shirts lined up in rows on hangers for work - everything perfectly in its place. The bed was made, but on it was a large piece of paper, and on it was written

OWL?

@MrsPetty

I have so many of these moments. Einstein called them ‘spooky actions at a distance’. That description made so much sense to me the first time I heard it. Some of mine are just off the wall nuts! I’m used to them now but others find it all so weird! The think I’m some sort of witch …. I’m not. It’s just quantum physics 😊
Thank you for this @MrsPetty, I love that spooky actions at a distance :)

Wish I had the capacity to understand quantum, what I can manage to assimilate is fascinating.

My neighbour who had been trying to conceive and was having difficulties came to see me, she and her husband were meeting up with old uni friends who had just got married she was a bit sad as she believed they were going to announce a pregnancy.

I looked at her and I KNEW she was pregnant, I insisted she get a test and do it before the meet with the uni friends - she did, she WAS pregnant and her husband said, let’s keep it between us and not tell anyone until we are absolutely definitely safe.

She said,I have to tell notmrsfitz - she’s the one who KNEW I was pregnant !!!

Not glitches really but I have 'known' things and they came true. I knew Id live in a certain place when I heard its name and a few years later I met someone from there and moved across the country to it. Id never been before.

One day on the bus home I had a "vision" Id have a daughter with blonde hair in pigtails who would jump in puddles with me. I did. I also predicted her DOB months before. Midwives were certain Id not have her the same day I was induced, but I was sure of it and I did.

Hey, I work in neurology and mental health, but I'm still religious and believe in the frankly unexplainable.
I'd be an arrogant sod to try and explain away everything. Sometimes it's quite obvious, hallucinations, agnosia, head injuries, neurogenerative illnessnes, hypnopompia, false memories, even coincidence blaah blaah. But sometimes, there is no explanation. Frankly I find that cooler, and I like my world with a bit more mystery in it!

When I was a kid I got told off & sent to bed. As I furiously took off my watch the strap broke. Next morning the watch had gone, I never found it.

I was emptying water from a bowl into the sink, just as I tipped the water out I noticed a knife in the bowl. When I checked the sink there was no knife in the bowl or sink. A few days later I noticed the knife had gone down the plug hole & was stuck in an upright position. I was 17 at the time & convinced it was some form of magic 🙄

FM2013 · 13/01/2022 17:34

The diamond fell out my engagement ring. I searched everywhere starting with around the kitchen sink because that's where I spend a lot of my time. I turned the house upside down for two days and couldn't find it. I decided to stop torturing myself and give up as I was never going to find it. 2 days later I found it on the rim of the kitchen sink. I wash pots at least 4 times a day how I didn't see it or it didn't go down the plug hole I will never know.

CookL · 13/01/2022 17:34

I don’t have one of my own but my husband has loads. Maybe because if he loses something and I find it first I keep it and ‘find’ It somewhere I know he has already looked. Really does his head in 😂😂

JaneJeffer · 13/01/2022 17:29

Cecelia Ahern wrote a novel about that @thenovice

I had a bracelet with a little cross trinket on that I got when TTC - I became odd obsessed with it and paranoid over it. To me wearing this bracelet would help me conceive and protect my pregnancy etc.

One day when I was 8 months pregnant I lost it. Fuck knows how. It just fell off somewhere. I was stressed about it but by that point was so far along in my pregnancy I didn't need it as a crutch anymore.

3 years later I'm removing a problem tree from my garden and around the roots there's my bracelet. How it got under there I'll never know. The tree predated me moving in!

I still wear it now.

thenovice · 13/01/2022 17:26

I am convinced there is a parallel universe full of odd socks and teaspoons.

Zilla1 · 13/01/2022 17:26

No need to apologise. You were right about the quote and it wasn't a very funny joke. I'm just disappointed at resurrections after there was so much time to make an adequate sequel/reboot. Same applies to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I think.

errnerrcallnernnernnern · 13/01/2022 17:18
@errnerrcallnernnernnern at the risk of grinding the life out of the joke, yours was the quote in the adequate first film. [spoilers] Before he died, Morpheus later recognised that after film four, Neo would lose the will to live.
Ah sorry 🤣

ArbleMarchTFruitbat · 13/01/2022 17:13

I don't think this was a glitch, just an odd coincidence, but here it is.

Back in the 80s there was a shop in town that used to sell ex-juke box 7" singles. There was a single I'd missed buying when it was in the charts so I decided to look for it on the off-chance it was there. The singles were in a revolving rack about 6 levels high and four columns round so you had to flick through them - they were in no particular order, so I went through them methodically - it took me about twenty minutes.

The single I wanted was the very last record in the very last section I flicked through!

ElegantlyTouched · 13/01/2022 17:11

I've known things about people I had no way of actually knowing. Each time I try and convince myself I'm making stuff up but then am proven right. Sometimes it's regarding the past or present, but often it's the future.

Two have happened in church (simply because it's where I spent a lot of my youth thanks to v religious parents).

I went to choir practice one evening with a friend. She went to park on the church drive as usual but I said she shouldn't as an ambulance couldn't get past if needed. No idea why I said it, in my 20 years of going to the church no emergency vehicles had ever been summoned and people parked there all the time. Anyway she rolled her eyes and duly parked on the road.

Practice over we go into the service. I see my mum sitting on her own near the end of a pew. During the first hymn a man entered the building and sat right next to her, despite the church being 95% empty. I 'knew' immediately he was about to die (but, as usual, refused to believe this notion). Ten minutes later he keeled over onto my mother.

Ambulance couldn't get near the place due to cars on the drive (but at least my friend's wasn't there).

Maybe I realised he looked ill, but nobody near him noticed, despite there being medics nearby who watched him come in. And why had I mentioned an ambulance earlier that evening? Was very strange.

The other church one was during a morning service. The children would be in for 15 mins before heading out to Sunday School. One family wads directly opposite me, though quite a distance away with the altar between us (so not a great view, and I couldn't hear them). Their adopted son was with them, together with another young boy. I knew instantly they were adopting him too, despite there being nothing more in their interactions than if he were a cousin or friend.

Mum spent time with the family at Sunday School so I asked her about them afterwards. She thought I was stupid, and immediately went to ring them to prove me wrong. She was gobsmacked when told that yes, they were hoping to adopt him (but had told nobody so far) and the parents were incredibly touched that I'd figured it out.

@errnerrcallnernnernnern at the risk of grinding the life out of the joke, yours was the quote in the adequate first film. [spoilers] Before he died, Morpheus later recognised that after film four, Neo would lose the will to live.

errnerrcallnernnernnern · 13/01/2022 17:06

It’s actually ‘No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't HAVE to.’

(Sorry)

Zilla1 · 13/01/2022 16:53

My glitch in the Matrix is reloaded, revolutions and resurrections

Neo : What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets? Morpheus : No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that you won't want to.

IReallyLikeCrows · 13/01/2022 16:44

I had one today. I always leave my headphones in the hall by my front door in the holder they came in. Went to get them today. Not there. Okay, possible that I left them somewhere else. Gone all around the house, nowhere, nowhere, nowhere.

I bought these headphones to replace another pair that got lost in my own house. I figured that old thing that you buy a new thing and oh, lookie here, the old thing turns up. That didn't happen. In looking for the more recent pair - I've had these for about a year and had a total declutter since buying them - I noticed something. It was the old pair in a very obvious position that had been searched time and time again. So, my more recent pair has disappeared into the ether and on the way, the older pair met up with them and said "I've got this. This is going to blow her mind."

I have cats so I've really searched because they're bastards who can hide just about anything. I have truly searched everywhere and truly searched high and low last time around. I claim my glitch in the matrix.
