To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

I lost my pandora bracelet in March last year, i took it off at the dining table before bathing the children. I forgot to put it back on after and remembered the next morning. The table hadn't been used but it was no where to be seen. I asked the kids and they all said the last place was when they saw me taking it off at the table.

I searched every single room. I did the thing where you ask people to bring it back. I even ordered myself a cheap one from ebay and got a couple of replica charms because I loved them so much.

In July, my youngest found the bracelet in the middle of the floor in DS room! During this time we redecorated DS room - removed carpet and put down vinyl and new furniture, so we definitely would have seen it! Everything had been hauled out and sorted through.

I was in York with my partner, and we were walking to the castle on the hill at the far end of the town, and there was a bloke selling walks, and as I walked past, he said "Hello, riceuten", which was a bit woo, as

i) I didn't know him (it was my first time in York)
ii) I hadn't spoken to my partner in front of him in either direction
iii) I wasn't wearing a name badge ;-)

When we where younger all living together my sister was coming down the stairs, I could hear her chatting on her way down, she walked into the living room and went white and stared at me shocked …she had just walked down the stairs as I apparently walked up the stairs and had a conversation with me!

Some 30 years later that story still makes us all get goosebumps!! She remembers it vividly and i will never forget her face scared looked at me!

Maskless · 13/01/2022 20:58

The following has happened to me at my computer about 50 times:

I'll be writing something, like an email or an essay, with some audio on in another window, for example, a youtube debate, blogger, interview or talk-based radio programme on at the same time, and just as my fingers are typing a phrase, someone on the audio says exactly the same phrased that I just typed.

Freaks me out!

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

When my brother and I were young, we bent to a small petting farm type place. We bought a postcard while there.

We still have it. We are in the picture on it...

I don't understand what you mean.
NormaSwilly · 13/01/2022 20:50

This is maybe more woo than glitch but a few years ago my youngest apparently had a sick big but wasn't rallying after 36 hours and I just felt like it was serious. I eventually decided to take her to A and E, even though she had no fever or anything. As I strapped her into the car I clearly heard a voice in her ear say "this is the moment that you save her life".

In hospital they were unconcerned and going to send her home, but one older nurse said "it's her 4th child and if a 4 times mum is worried, I am worried". It subsequently turned out dd had a total bowel obstruction and she ended up having part of her intestines removed. Without the operation she would have died within a day or two

Tilltheend99 · 13/01/2022 20:49

Lol. Just remembered another one. Set a date for our wedding. Harry and Meghan announced their engagement. There was loads of speculation in the press about the possible date but some how I just knew it would be the same day we had picked and low and behold it was.

TheChip · 13/01/2022 20:47

Another weird one but this was my mam.
She had a phone call from a young boy, he called her mam and when she told him he had the wrong number he was adamant that she was his mother. She kept apologising telling him she wasn't and that he must have had the wrong number. He was crying down the phone completely convinced she was his mam. She hung up in the end.
Who doesn't know the sound of their mothers voice? It made me wonder if she had all boys in an alternate universe and he was calling his mother in his world, but connected to this worlds version.

Probably a more reasonable explanation but she found it creepy either way.

Theworldisquiethere · 13/01/2022 20:47

But the scariest thing I've ever had happen to me was just pure coincidence...arrived home at night, turned the car engine off and all the lights in the street went out in a powercut at the exact same time. Even turned the engine back on in case it had been me that did it!

Recently my son did a loud fart and the lights all flickered and went out. Not scary but a hilarious coincidence! Turned out to be a power cut that covered half the town and lasted all morning so I’m assuming his fart didn’t cause it

I used to have a Fitbit zip, very small thing. One day it vanished from where it had been in my bedroom. I turned the place upside down, couldn’t find it. I said out loud “angels, please help me find my Fitbit” I then left the room and came back and there was a quiet bang from my lipstick box (which has a lid) I opened it and there was my Fitbit.

blueshoes · 13/01/2022 20:41

@MrsPetty

I have so many of these moments. Einstein called them ‘spooky actions at a distance’. That description made so much sense to me the first time I heard it. Some of mine are just off the wall nuts! I’m used to them now but others find it all so weird! The think I’m some sort of witch …. I’m not. It’s just quantum physics 😊
I have none of these moments. I wish I did because it would be nice to tell. But no, nothing, blank.

My matrix is de-bugged.

sueelleker · 13/01/2022 20:39

Beanybob;
You're not epileptic are you? My DH used to miss chunks of lessons, and he wasn't diagnosed until he was in his 40's.

Tilltheend99 · 13/01/2022 20:27

Various odd things happen now and then but maybe the stranger one were;

As a young teenager on a family holiday we went to a beach where I built a semi-elaborate sand castle but with unusual raised mounds around the moat. In the afternoon we went to visit a castle we’d never been to before which was basically built in the same style.

Later that same holiday, we visited the garden of one of the Queen’s residences. There was a church/chapel with a grave yard that I was wondering around reading the stones. I found a stone for a woman who died on my birthday but in the same year, next to it was her husband’s grave and he had die two days out from my brothers birthday also in the same year which I thought was a bit odd.

Also, my late mother and my now DH came to pick me up from work one night and waited in the car while I took the bins out and locked up. They both saw a ufo hovering in the sky above and were both pale and shocked when I got in the car. Neither were the type to make it up or to come up with it together as a joke. What made it stranger was that it was over a busy high street in the West Midlands rather than in the countryside where you’d imagine to see one.

Tzimi · 13/01/2022 20:25

@DameDoom

Not a glitch but a weird UFO one. 1990, the early morning before an A level exam, my mum came into my bedroom and woke me up really urgently telling me to come outside. I went down and most of the residents of our street were all staring up at this bright, spinning rugby ball-shaped thing in the sky above our houses. It was massive and covering half the houses. I completely crapped myself and ran back inside while they all just stood there open -mouthed for ages. Next day, my mum told me a police man had knocked on our door at lunchtime to tell her not to worry about what we’d seen - it was a police helicopter exercise. I have never seen an enormous, spinning police helicopter before. It was totally silent too. It was the talk of the street - neighbours phoned our local radio station and one called the newspaper but there was never anything written about it. Not so much as a jokey mention of local yokels getting themselves confused with ‘copters and UFOs. I have trawled the internet to see if anything has been written about it - can’t find one single mention. Still intrigues me today.
Police helicopter exercise my arse!
TotoAnnihiliation · 13/01/2022 20:24

@Laufeythejust

The bloody cheese grater. Couldn’t find it anywhere (one of the ikea ones that catches the cheese in a pot) me and DP emptied every drawer and cupboard. Gave up and a week later bought a new one and left it on the side. Went to put it away later on and the old one was next to it on the side.
The same thing happened to us! DH and I emptied the cupboard out, cheese grater nowhere to be seen. Bought a new one, one day we opened the cupboard and they were there side by side!
Scbchl · 13/01/2022 20:23

I put my remote on the end of the couch and walked in to the kitchen and got a drink. Came back in and it wasn't there. No one else was in the house. I pulled out all the cushions on both couches, looked under the couch. Checked in the kitchen, in all the drawers and fridge. Then rechecked the couch and under all cushions. Got pidsed off and went for a bath. Came back downstairs and it was sat on the bloody couch where id put it. I'm still totally baffled because id pulled all the cushions off to look under them twice, so it would have moved 🤷‍♀️

NicolaC17 · 13/01/2022 20:22

Not sure if it counts but I had a job interview about 6 months ago and on leaving I know I would not be starting the job if I accepted. An hour later they offered me the job so the next day I handed my notice in at work and accepted. They sent though a contract and we agreed to confirm the start date in the next few weeks. In that time I went for another interview and got the job and decided to take that instead but just feels odd that I had that feeling and then accepted with every intention of taking it.

Blossombo · 13/01/2022 20:17

It has to be when all journeys (no matter how they are taken, foot, car, plane) are shorter on the way home!!

Tell me I’m wrong!

Travelledtheworld · 13/01/2022 20:15

@Mi888 have you read about the Time Slips in Liverpool Bold Street ? Fascinating.

TheFoundation · 13/01/2022 20:14

I was ironing once next to the wall mounted phone, when my friend phoned. We had a quick chat, and when I put the phone down I noticed that my Mum was stood looking at me with her mouth agape. Apparently I'd turned around several seconds before the phone rang, and stood with my hand hovering over the phone until it rang and I picked it up. I hadn't been expecting her to phone. Didn't even know I'd done it.

Same friend and I had a few telepathic experiences, including both coming into school and telling separate friends about a weird dream we'd had the night before; very odd and involved sort of dream, couldn't really have been a coincidence. I'm glad we reported it separately otherwise I never would have believed her that she had it too!

LisaD76 · 13/01/2022 20:13

When I was 4 I came out of school and couldn’t see my mum in the crowd of parents in the corner of the playground. We had a sheltered seating area (3 brick walls with a roof and a bench going all the way round) so I thought I would sit there for a moment while the crowd thinned, except when I came out no more than 5 minutes later there was not a soul to be seen. I of course panicked and went hammering on the now locked school door, and when a teacher came out she said everyone was looking for me, it seems I had been missing for 20-30 minutes and they had checked the shelter and I was not there, I have no recollection of being there for more than a few minutes. I think even the police had checked this shelter and it had been empty.

Mammma91 · 13/01/2022 20:09

Shamelessly place marking. These are incredible.
