Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Sometimes I ask myself why I'm on MN with the snide remarks and hyperbole about insignificant things, then I see a thread like this and it makes me feel all warm inside. I am so happy for you OP, congratulations ThanksThanks

StrongLegs · 01/12/2021 17:12

That's brilliant @Omgwhatthehell.

I did eight tests before I was really convinced, so I think it's really entirely legitimate to keep buying lots of different tests until you are really happy with it.

Benjispruce5 · 01/12/2021 17:10

OP just to add I had a positive x2 then the GP test came back negative. He said it didn’t matter, didn’t do another and just referred me to midwife as he said home tests were more accurate. That was 22 years ago so I think you can trust the tests you have done.SmileFlowers

TottiePlantagenet · 01/12/2021 17:10

What a lovely 'positive' thread!
Many congratulations @Omgwhatthehell!!!

I was told by the doctor, when I was first pregnant (about a million years ago!) that you never really get false positives.

You are going to have a lovely Christmas this year, but next year will be beyond special!

EasyLikeSundays · 01/12/2021 17:06

@omgwhatthehell please do would love to see how far along you are. Massive congrats!

How lovely. Many congratulations, OP!

Platax · 01/12/2021 17:03

Rather nice that you've also made the doctor happy! It's just the sort of thing that makes HCPs go home with a spring in their steps.

LoveMyKeeks · 01/12/2021 17:03

What a lovely lovely thread. Congratulations OP ❤️

cookielove · 01/12/2021 17:02

Congratulations

Omgwhatthehell · 01/12/2021 17:02

She estimates I'm about 5 and a half weeks. I will maybe try to source a digital test tomorrow to add to my collection!

What lovely news. Congratulations.

Omgwhatthehell · 01/12/2021 17:00

The Doctor just called me. The same, lovely, Doctor who had referred me for fertility checks. I could tell over the phone she is thrilled for me!
She asked me how I feel, but I couldn't manage much more than "mainly shocked really" Grin

She advised that I can't have a colposcopy done so the appointment needed cancelling, which I've done. She has referred me straight to maternity services.

Looks positive to me but get a gp to confirm asap so you know for sure or a digital test that says pregnant . Congratulations and what a lovely early Christmas present. Xx

Similar happened to me OP and It was the most mind blowing amazing surprise I am so excited for you! For excitement purposes only please do one of those clear blue week number tests - your positives are so strong I bet it'll say 5-6 weeks or something like that. I'm so nosey but also invested in your amazing news and would love to know! Congrats.

Sunnymummy8 · 01/12/2021 16:49

Massive congrats.. 🎉

me4real · 01/12/2021 16:49

Woo hoo! Congratulations (if it's what you want) OP. I got pregnant once with a partner who'd been told his fertility was low and we hadn't used any contraception for 5 years. It was a shock/surprise but I soon got into the idea.

Best wishes. xx

Nocutenamesleft · 01/12/2021 16:48

That's amazing news 😊😊 massive congratulations !!
I was told the same, you'll never can pregnant and IVF will probably not work.
I did a test the morning our IVF was due to start as thought they would make me do one before we started and I was pregnant. We both sat for about half an hour with shock on our faces.

I now have a toddler who is chaos is everyway but I love every minute of it .
